The Utah native first met her estranged husband, Jihoon Lee, through a dating app. After three months of online dating, the South Korean native booked a ticket to the United States and met his future wife for the first time. Despite the language barrier, the couple fell in love. On their first night together, Deavan got pregnant. In April 2019, the couple was blessed with their first child, Taeyang.

Since Jihoon had mounting debt and didn't have a stable, average-paying job, the couple often argued about their finances. During a confessional, the mommy-of-two revealed she used to work 17 hours a day in her home country while taking care of two kids.
