Warning! Spoilers for Deathstroke Inc. by DC Comics below

After decades of being a villain and an antihero, Deathstroke has decided to take a more righteous path as a hero. In the first issue of Deathstroke Inc., the assassin reveals he's tired of skirting the line between being a villain and good guy and is trying to play hero for now, hoping it will stick this time. But can Deathstroke fully embrace being a hero? Or will his past come back to haunt him?

Deathstroke is one of DC's greatest villains. Slade Wilson first appeared in The New Teen Titans #2 and was created by Marv Wolfman and George Perez. Slade gained enhanced abilities thanks to a secret U.S. army experiment, including super-strength, agility, and intelligence. He's used those powers to become Deathstroke the Terminator, one of DC's deadliest assassins. The villain usually faces off against the Teen Titans or the Bat-Family but has slowly evolved into an antihero over the years. But now, Deathstroke is choosing to become a hero as he's tired of the life he's lived.

In Deathstroke Inc. #1 by Joshua Williamson, Howard Porter, Hi-Fi, and Steve Wands, Deathstroke finds himself teaming up with T.R.U.S.T., an organization tasked with taking down villains across the globe. His first mission sees him infiltrate a secret H.I.V.E. hideout with Black Canary and tracking down the group's queen and bringing her back to T.R.U.S.T. After taking down the group, Black Canary asks Deathstroke why he's really helping track down supervillains. Deathstroke responds that he doesn't deserve a good life and that he owes it to his family to turn things around.

Deathstroke DC Comics

Deathstroke is clearly tired of playing both sides of good and evil and felt like that he needs to repent for all of the death and destruction he's caused in the past. He admits he's only ever felt happy when he's been hurting people, which is an indictment of who he's become. Deathstroke wants to try to be a hero and see if it's something that can stick long-term. Unfortunately, T.R.U.S.T. doesn't live up to their name, as the organization has ulterior motives for hunting down villains as they hope to recruit even more heroes and villains to do their bidding.

Deathstroke has been around long enough that he's ready for something new. Becoming a hero might seem like a shocking change, but Slade Wilson feels genuinely remorseful about his dark past. He can make the world a better place by tracking down villains and bringing them to justice - even if T.R.U.S.T. has their own nefarious goals in mind. Deathstroke Inc. is comic book stores now.
