Ben Affleck brought about some very unexpected news for the future of the DCEU from the Justice League set, showing off what appears to be test footage of Deathstroke's entrance into the universe. With Affleck currently filming Justice League in London right now, it looked like we could see Slade Wilson as early as next year. It is still unclear what his role will be in Justice League, but one report points to him being set-up to become the main villain in Affleck's solo movie, tentatively known as The Batman.
One of the names that was quickly rumored for the role was Joe Manganiello, who reportedly tested for the same role for Suicide Squad. Clearly those plans changed with Deathstroke not being featured in the third DCEU movie, but if they are planning to bring the character in soon, it would not be surprising to see them turn back to Manganiello. With this remaining a possibility, some more fan art has come out to give people a look at how Deathstroke could look on screen.
Photoshop artist BossLogic has already revealed his take on what Manganiello could look like as Deathstroke, but he has returned to give some alternate looks to the full costume. No matter who is in the suit when he is on screen, there will be plenty of times when Deathstroke does not wear the mask, just to show the star underneath. In these variations of his first photo, Deathstroke dawns the mask, with Batman being shown in the reflection.
These new potential looks at Deathstroke should only further the excitement that DC is looking to bring him to the screen. While his appearance in The Batman is not yet confirmed, the reports in combination with Affleck being the one to reveal the footage makes it seem likely that this should come to pass. If this does happen, expect Deathstroke to be featured during the marketing campaign, which is exactly what fellow artist MessyPandas did.
The amount of fan made images and posters for Deathstroke's appearance in the DCEU should only continue to show the studios that people are excited for him to debut. Even with the rocky start to the universe, people are still optimistic about the DCEU and that it can right the ship. As far as we know, Deathstroke could be the next step in assuring that will happen.
