Death Stranding Director's Cut has just recently launched on the PlayStation 5, adding new content throughout the game, with support for the DualSense's unique features and the PS5's 3D Audio, though there's been no word about whether any extra content might come to PC. PlayStation has recently been porting some of its exclusives to PC, including the original release of Death Stranding. So far there hasn't been any word on whether or not Death Stranding Director's Cut will make its way to PC, but it isn't out of the realm of possibility.

Death Stranding first launched exclusively on the PlayStation 4 in November 2019, coming to PC in July of 2020. It lead the way for other former PS4 exclusives like Horizon Zero Dawn a month later, with Days Gone following in 2021. Now Uncharted 4 and The Lost Legacy are on the way to PC with the Legacy of Thieves collectionDeath Stranding Director's Cut seems like a likely candidate for a port, since the base game is already on PC, but Sony hasn't confirmed whether or not it will remain exclusive to the PS5.

Death Stranding had the quickest turnaround for a PS4 exclusive coming to PC, but it still took a while - roughly eight months. Sony isn't likely to cut into whatever potential sales might come from the Director's Cut's PS5 exclusivity just yet, so players probably shouldn't get their hopes up for a PC announcement in the near future. That said, there's nothing necessarily stopping Death Stranding Director's Cut from coming to PC, and since multiple platforms helped its original sales, Sony is likely at least considering whether breaking the Director's Cut PS5 exclusivity would be to its advantage.

PC Can Copy Death Stranding Director's Cut's PS5 Features

Aside from the faster load times and increased visuals from the PlayStation 5 itself, a big draw for Death Stranding Director's Cut is the added immersion from the DualSense. The haptic feedback in each side of the controller correspond to Sam's feet, and there is a wide variety of vibration patterns for different items throughout the game. The adaptive triggers are also put to good use, helping players feel the weight of their cargo when balancing it. Fortunately for those hoping for a Director's Cut PC release, the platform does not completely exclude these features.

For instance, Assassin's Creed Valhalla received DualSense support earlier this year, so it's possible the same could be done for Death Stranding Director's Cut. This would, of course, require PC players to purchase a DualSense if they wanted to take advantage of those features. The current build of Death Stranding on PC already supports ultra wide resolutions, and fast PC SSDs can take care of slow loading times as well. While there hasn't been any official word from Sony just yet, it seems possible - maybe even likely - that Death Stranding Director's Cut will come to PC eventually.
