Deaf U is a Netflix reality show like no other. Producer Nyle DiMarco, who is a former winner of America's Next Top Model, gives insight into life at the world's only liberal arts college for the deaf and hard of hearing. Five minutes into the show, viewers realize that Gallaudet University is sexy, fun, and full of drama and secrets. The show breaks boundaries and asks people to consider what it means to be inclusive to the deaf community. More than anything though, it showcases deaf culture in a way that people have never seen before. It features a host of fascinating characters, including Alexa Paulay-Simmons, who may just be the show's heartbreaker.

Nyle DiMarco is a Gallaudet University alum who explores the difficulties of living in a world designed for hearing individuals and exposes the unique cliques on campus. These serious issues are an undercurrent in the ocean of flirtation between Gallaudet's students, including sexy texts and nights out. Between the house parties and hookups, we get close-ups that showcase the complicated emotional experiences in each reality TV star's life, including Alexa's.

Deaf U would not be the same without Alexa Paulay-Simmons. Thanks to her self-professed "Daddy issues" and a propensity for "bad boys," she is the show's official heartbreaker. In ripped denim and crushed velvet, Alexa has hotties Daequan, Rodney, Braxton, and Dalton vying for her attention. This girl does what she wants with her love life. Saying things like, "I like to be chased," and "I'm not going to lie, I don't mind sleeping with you," she leaves male students mystified and drooling. In an intimate bro-moment, Rodney asks how she manages to "play" with "the players," and all Daequan can say is, "she's a psychology major!" See a clip of Alex below:

While it may seem like this blonde bombshell has gone full Carrie Bradshaw, by having "sex like a man," her intentions are raw and authentic. Throughout the season, she tries to find real love and sexual chemistry. The reality TV celeb admits to her mistakes and has a deep desire for others (mainly men) to be held accountable for their actions. Telling her boyfriend to cut his hair and get a job, or telling her dad that he is an "emotionally unavailable" parent, is easy for her. She also doesn't mince words when she accuses her ex of impregnating her on purpose.

In an Instagram post, Alexa says, "boys will be boys held accountable for their f*cking actions," and we totally feel her. We all need a little Alexa in our lives, and with only eight 20-minute episodes, we have high hopes for Deaf U season 2. Or maybe even a spinoff series!
