Spoilers for Deadpool #3 by Marvel Comics

In a new variant cover, Deadpool transforms into Wolverine, as the Merc with a Mouth gets the powers of the clawed hero and a costume to match. In the recently revealed Josh Giang cover that's exclusive to certain online retailers, Wade Wilson and Logan's combination hero strikes a menacing pose, showing what the two characters who have often come at odds with each other would look like as one.

The variant cover from Josh Giang, which is exclusively available to select online retailers, shows off Deadpool and Wolverine's combined form, as the merged hero wears the assassin's trademark red costume but with several changes that also fit the X-Men hero. The black part of the antihero's mask resembles Wolverine's, with sharp teeth like the mutant, long scraggly facial hair, and of course, long claws. Considering both hero's healing factors and powers, Deadpool and Wolverine's combined form might be the most unkillable version of either popular character. The look also somewhat resembles Sabretooth.

Deadpool and Wolverine Have A Hilarious Relationship In The Comics

Deadpool and Wolverine aren't the best of friends in the comics despite having similar origins and fighting together on teams like X-Force. While both heroes gained significant power upgrades from being experimented on by the Weapon X Program, Wolverine, like most Marvel heroes, finds the Merc with the Mouth annoying and hasn't been afraid to express his true feelings about Deadpool to his face. The relationship between Deadpool and Wolverine has become even more notable thanks to the live-action Deadpool films, where the antihero continually brings up Hugh Jackman's version of the character - which will come to a head in Deadpool 3, where Jackman will reprise his role as Wolverine.

Deadpool Variant Cover John Giang

While the variant cover features Deadpool and Wolverine transforming into one combination hero, in the comic itself, the Merc with the Mouth dealt with the fallout of merging with another character: Carnage. Deadpool took on a horrifying new form in the Alyssa Wong and Martin Coccolo series, as he grew multiple arms thanks to his new symbiote powers.

Deadpool and Wolverine becoming one hero with a new costume and powers make for a fun transformation. It would be cool to see the new version of the combination character appear in the comics to see what they are capable of in their latest form. Readers can now pick up the Deadpool/Wolverine Josh Giang variant cover for Deadpool #3 by Marvel Comics, which is exclusive to certain online retailers.
