Deadpool successfully wields the Infinity Gauntlet in new Avengers: Infinity War fan art. The most powerful device to ever be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe showed its true might over the course of Infinity War. As Thanos gathered all six Infinity Stones, he continued to become even stronger. The combination of the various powers made it possible for him to ultimately succeed in balancing the universe. Attempting to reverse this act is expected to be a major part of Avengers 4, and the heroes will need all the help they can get.

Possibly the biggest question will be who is ultimately strong enough to harness the power of all six Infinity Stones a fully powered Infinity Gauntlet would hold. Theories go from Iron Man to Captain America to Thor to newcomer Captain Marvel as all being candidates to help restore the universe. However, new fan art posits a rather interesting and fun alternative.

Deadpool's comic book creator Rob Liefeld shared a piece of fan art done by artist Agent.14 on Instagram (via Comic Book) that gives Ryan Reynolds' Merc with a Mouth all the power. He sits upon Thanos' chair with the Gauntlet in hand, ready to do whatever he pleases. The art is done in the style of Marvel Studios' recently unveiled 10-year anniversary character posters.

In the hypothetical world where Deadpool is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (which may not be hypothetical for too much longer), he could certainly come in handy when trying to stop Thanos. But, in the scenario where Deadpool actually has control of all six Infinity Stones, there's no telling what he would ultimately do. If Thanos can wipe away half of the galaxy with the snap of his fingers, it is safe to assume that Deadpool could, and likely would, do anything he imagined.

For now though, Deadpool's jabs at Thanos will just have to come through more fourth-wall breaking jokes. There were plenty in Deadpool 2 thanks to Josh Brolin pulling double-duty as Cable. Since they're set to co-star in X-Force too, any future jokes Reynolds can think of still have a shot at being made. He may need to include them sooner rather than later just in case the Mouse House does take over, as they may not be too fond of a potential major franchise lead making their other properties the butt of his jokes. That said, Disney poked plenty of fun at itself in the new Wreck-It Ralph 2 trailer, so with it all potentially being done in good fun, we can only hope they'd continue should the deal close.
