Warning! Spoilers ahead for X-Force #20

In the latest issue of Marvel Comics' X-Force, the X-Men's Hellfire Gala is well underway, and Deadpool soon arrives as its first party-crasher. Apparently, the Merc with the Mouth wasn't invited, and he's clearly upset about it. However, he's going to have to get through Wolverine first if he wants to even hope of mingling with all of the guests who were actually invited to the massive party. Deadpool isn't the only thing holding X-Force's focus as the celebration continues on the mutant island nation of Krakoa.

Seeing as how X-Force operates as Krakoa's version of the CIA, Beast clearly has multiple agendas going on beyond mere security, particularly with his manipulation of the country Terra Verde. Using the Hellfire Gala and the arrival of several ambassadors as the perfect chance to orchestrate peace (albeit using clandestine methods) Beast has his hands full while potentially endangering the entire mutant nation should his actions be found out in X-Force #20 from writer Benjamin Percy and artist Joshua Cassara.

However, much of that takes a back seat with Wolverine on shoreline patrol, being alerted to an unknown threat coming in from the water. Fearing the worst, Logan pops his claws ready for a fight, only to be more angered and very much annoyed by the arrival of Deadpool, who's come to Krakoa using pool floaties and a snorkel despite having not been invited to the Hellfire Gala (for obvious reasons). He's also wielding a harpoon gun, appearing to be pretty angry that he never got an invite.

Both Wolverine and Deadpool are both extremely hard to kill thanks to their equally impressive healing factors, which means their brawl on the beach is all kinds of brutal. While Logan keeps stabbing and slashing Wade Wilson, Deadpool shoots Wolverine in the face, and yet they both keep going. However, Wolverine gets some helpful backup in the form of Domino, who shoots Wade in the face with a powerful blast that puts him down...for now. Teasers for the upcoming Wolverine #13 reveal that Wolverine and Deadpool's fight will continue, and perhaps Wade will be able to see for himself whether or not the Hellfire Gala will be featuring "balls pits, curly slides, and stripper poles." Clearly, Deadpool has been dreaming about a much different party.

While it's no surprise that Wade Wilson wasn't invited to the mutant party, it certainly seems as though X-Force should have expected and prepared for him to crash the party. Deadpool certainly hasn't been feeling the love from Krakoa, as they refused to give his monster kingdom on Staten Island a Krakoan gateway despite his requests. Combined with the fact that he's now being kept out of the Hellfire Gala, it's certainly possible that the X-Men may have just made Deadpool into an enemy, rather than just the simple nuisance he usually is. In any case, Beast's plans are spiraling out of control at the issue's end, indicating that the X-Force is going to have much bigger problems than Deadpool as the Hellfire Gala continues.
