The Eternals have given Deadpool a present - a new suit in celebration of his 30th anniversary. The Merc with a Mouth's bold new look is courtesy of one of his original creators. He doesn't feature within the comic he is on the cover of, but it's still a suit worth taking note of.

Deadpool was created by Rob Liefeld and Fabian Nicieza, thirty years ago in 1991. Since then, he has frequently appeared in a suit that hasn't had many changes over the years. On occasion, a few details will change, or he'll debut some new looks fitting different roles (X-Force, Marvel's Ultimate universe, Pirate Deadpool). However, he now has a suit that makes major visual changes.

Eternals Celestia #1 has a variant cover by Rob Liefeld that features Deadpool in a suit that maintains his usual color scheme but changes the layout. There are new black accents scattered about the suit, including new accents just above his eyes. His visual markers on the suit are less simplistic now, adding more intricate details and angles. Typically, his suit is predominantly red in the center. This cover replaces it with more centralized black designs.

Other changes to this suit include angular accents under his knees, new weaponry, and surprisingly - no utility belt or pouches! Deadpool's pouches have long been a visual marker of the character, as well as a humorous aspect considering Liefeld's love of them on characters he has had a hand in designing (ex: Cable, The Pouch). Now, Deadpool has no pouches at all, which is a very strange shift for the character. After all, he has a tendency to stash snacks and extra ammo in them. His belt has been exchanged for a sleek red waistband that blends into his suit far more than his previous belts have.

In addition to the shift in visual accents and a belt change, Deadpool has also exchanged his short black gloves for a longer pair. He is also armed very differently than normal. He has different guns, a single katana, and a larger blade. Deadpool is no stranger to using a diverse arsenal, but he typically wields dual katanas and is rarely seen with blades as large as the one currently strapped to his back. This look is definitely a big shift for the character, though it isn't one that fans will be seeing in action.

Thirty years is nothing to laugh at and this antihero's fashion sense is always adjusting to his adventures. How Deadpool would use this suit would be very intriguing to see. His Ultimate look inverted his usual design and he often has one-off outfits for special adventures such as when he was King of the Monsters. This new cover places him front and center, stealing the show away from the Eternals present on it. His co-heroes include Thena, Ikaris, and Sersi. Stealing the show is definitely something Deadpool loves to do. Eternals Celestia #1 releases October 6.
