Rob Liefield, who created Deadpool, is giving some cryptic responses about the Doctor Strange 2 poster. The X-Men are on their way to the MCU, and so is Wade Wilson, a.k.a. Deadpool. Following Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox, Deadpool became one of many X-Men characters that the studio got access to for their Marvel properties. While there was uncertainty if Ryan Reynolds' character was done, many were surprised when it was revealed that a Deadpool 3 is not only in the works but will be set within the MCU and still have an R-rating.

While there haven't been any updates since 2021, Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin and Wendy Molyneux are attached as screenwriters with Reynolds involved in overseeing the script. Exactly how Deadpool makes it into the MCU has so far not been clarified since the initial announcement. However, one theory that is floating around is that Reynolds is reprising his role in Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness. Following the release of its latest poster, there is one particular glass shot that looks suspiciously a lot like Deadpool with previously used marketing material. Whether or not this is actually happening remains to be seen for the time being.

With fans speculating heavily about Deadpool's potential MCU debut through Doctor Strange 2, his creator Liefield is having fun on social media. As many are doing speculative pieces about Reynolds' possible appearance, Liefield has been sharing cryptic responses while not saying definitively if this is happening or not. If Liefield knew what was happening, he would likely not be able to say much anyway due to NDAs, but also for the sake of not spoiling something huge for Doctor Strange 2. Here is how Liefield has been responding about the theory thus far:

While only time will tell if Deadpool truly is in Doctor Strange 2, it's not an impossible scenario. Following Spider-Man: No Way Home's massive storyline, the MCU is pushing forward with exploring the Multiverse. The latest trailer for the Doctor Strange sequel has Sir Patrick Stewart as a "mystery character" most likely meant to be none other than Charles Xavier, a.k.a. Professor X. Whether he's playing the same Professor X from the original X-Men films or a new variant remains to be seen. However, if they can bring in one of the most beloved X-Men through Doctor Strange 2, there's no reason they couldn't do the same for Deadpool.

If Reynolds is indeed in Doctor Strange 2, it's very likely that Deadpool will have either a cameo appearance or a small role. Given how dark Doctor Strange 2 is looking to be, having Deadpool come in at the right time to help lighten the mood would be beneficial. More importantly, it will properly set up how Deadpool 3 is taking place within the MCU, and since Wade is famous for breaking the fourth wall, he could probably make a hilarious remark about how this even became possible due to the acquisition. Despite not saying a word, Liefield's funny responses about Deadpool's potential role in Doctor Strange 2 are definitely getting more fans excited about the possibility.
