Writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick talk about the possibility of Chris Hemsworth's Thor appearing in Deadpool 3. Now as part of Marvel Studios, Ryan Reynolds' Wade Wilson is set to make his MCU debut through the threequel. No release date has been set, but Deadpool 3 has been in development for quite a while now.

Disney's historic acquisition of Fox's movie and TV assets paves the way for the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and all their tie-in characters to appear in the MCU and interact with its heroes. The Fantastic Four is already going to be rebooted, and chances are that the X-Men will also follow suit in some capacity. Deadpool and his franchise, however, will essentially be absorbed into Kevin Feige's universe. Deadpool 3 will be the first R-rated film under Marvel Studios. Reese and Wernick from the Zombieland fame, not to mention the first two Deadpool installments, take over from previous scribes, Bob's Burgers writers Wendy Molyneaux and Lizzie Molyneaux-Loeglin.

While Reese and Wernick can't talk plot specifics about Deadpool 3, there's an ongoing idea that after collaborating with Hemsworth in Netflix's Spiderhead, Thor can appear in Deadpool 3. The pair is tightlipped about the matter in a new interview with Den of Geek regarding the matter, but they're interested in the scenario. Check out their brief but interesting answer below:

Oh man, if he did, we certainly couldn’t talk about it. [But] it’d be super cool.

Thor Love and Thunder Chris Hemsworth

Understandably, Wernick and Rheese can't talk about specifics for Deadpool 3. But considering the fact that the film has been in development for a while now, chances are that they have a pretty good idea of what its general story trajectory will be. While the threequel is under Marvel Studios, it's still uncertain if it will actually be a part of the main MCU timeline. Given the bidding multiverse, the events of the film can take place on an entirely different Earth, with Wilson having the opportunity to travel to Earth-616 or the Sacred Timeline. This is the only way that Hemsworth's main Thor version can appear in the film unless it's a meta-reference for both the actor and his God of Thunder character.

Seeing Thor interact with Deadpool in Deadpool 3 would definitely be a sight to see. This is especially so given the God of Thunder's more humorous persona after Thor: Ragnarok. But aside from that, it's also one of the most effective ways to highlight the fact that the Merc with a Mouth is now in the MCU. As one of the Avengers, Thor has long been associated with the franchise, and without Iron Man and Captain America, he is the only remaining member of the universe's original big three. Given this, it makes sense that he could be the one to welcome Deadpool into the MCU.
