A fan poster for Deadpool 3 shows the Merc-With-A-Mouth bringing his signature brand of trolling to the Avengers. Ryan Reynolds brought Deadpool to the big screen in 2016 and again for the sequel in 2018. Both films did generally well with critics and at the box office, leading many to wonder what would happen to the famous anti-hero after Disney bought 20th Century Fox.

Thankfully for fans, the Deadpool series is continuing. It was announced in November that Deadpool 3 is indeed happening at Marvel Studios, with the Molyneux sisters writing the sequel. That being said, very little is known about the sequel, and Wade Wilson is the only mutant not expected to be recast when he joins the MCU. Deadpool 3 was notably absent from Disney Investor Day, which has led some to believe that Deadpool 3 might not even take place in the MCU. With ideas for the sequel running wild online, some fans have already started creating fan posters to imagine what Deadpool 3 could look like.

Erathrim20 recently posted his version of a Deadpool 3 poster with the caption "Tony Stank." The fake promotional image features the masked mercenary sporting a Tony Stark-like business suit with the nano-tech armor (as seen in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame) partially formed on his body. At his feet lies Pepper Potts' Rescue armor, with the helmet open to show it's empty. Erathrim20's original Instagram post can be seen below:

As mentioned above, the plot details for the sequel are still up in the air, but the fan-art brings to mind the popular 2012 mini-series Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe by writer Cullen Bunn and artist Dalibor Talajić. The 5-issue graphic novel (plus its 2017 follow-up) could serve as inspiration for a hard-R out-of-continuity feature where Deadpool is free to slay MCU favorites with impunity if Disney decides to maintain the tone of the first 2 films. This could also serve as a fun way to bring actors like Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans back to the MCU.

The concept invites comparisons not only to the irreverent marketing from the previous Deadpool movies taking potshots at the X-Men, but also the epic minimalism of some of the first Ant-Man's character posters. Those posters featured the diminutive superhero placed to scale beside the familiar weapons of the core Avengers. While these are just fan-made posters for Deadpool 3, it's possible Marvel Studios could do something similar with their official posters. Artists have a bit more freedom on Deadpool posters than with traditional posters, thanks to Deadpool being such a wild character.
