As development continues on his franchise debut, creator Rob Liefeld is sharing his thoughts on which Avengers should be in Deadpool 3. Ryan Reynolds is returning to lead the upcoming comic book threequel, which will now be set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Disney's acquisition of 21st Century Fox led to the rights to the character and franchise reverting back to Marvel Studios. Development had begun on Deadpool 3 back at Fox, though between Reynolds' busy schedule and the studio's initial plans for an X-Force movie, it would languish for three years leading up to the Disney-Fox merger.

Reynolds isn't the only prior franchise star confirmed to be returning for Deadpool 3, with Blind Al actress Leslie Uggams also set to reprise her role in the MCU film. Though originally being penned by Bob's Burgers duo Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin, the movie is being written by original Deadpool duo Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, with Shawn Levy being brought on earlier this year to direct following his success with Reynolds on Free Guy and The Adam Project. Writing on Deadpool 3 is still ongoing and the creator of the character has ideas on what MCU elements should crossover with his creation.

In a recent interview with ComicBook.com, Rob Liefeld opened up about his thoughts and hopes of what's to come from Deadpool 3. The comic book creator demanded that Ryan Reynolds' Merc with a Mouth share screen time with Mark Ruffalo's Hulk in the hopes of capturing the same comedic elements from The Avengers, while also wanting to see the surviving X-Force members come back. See what Liefeld said below:

"I will have my picket line. I will have my single picket line of one, okay, don't tease me with number 2. Don't take me to Valhalla and then drop me off. Okay, look, we both know Deadpool 3, he's going to interact with uh, the crew, you know, I mean, I get excited at the prospect of him hanging out with Hemsworth and or, uh, you know Ant-Man, Mr. Paul Rudd. I mean, those are great matchups. I personally would love to see him and the Hulk in a buddy movie because I think Hulk was undeserved. People forget what a mic drop he was in The Avengers. Let's rag doll Deadpool the way he did Loki, you know what I mean? So I know they have great things planned. He's definitely going to interact with the Marvel universe because that's the default go to move, but how do you know bring Zazi [Beets] and Josh [Brolin] back? Because fans love them."

Liefeld isn't the only one voicing their hopes to see Thor crossover with Deadpool 3, as the MCU star Chris Hemsworth jokingly said in the lead up to Thor: Love and Thunder's release that he would make some calls to keep Hugh Jackman out of it to put himself in the film instead. Given Thor's recent transition to a more comedic depiction in the MCU thanks to writer/director Taika Waititi, the idea of the God of Thunder sharing screen time with Hemsworth's hero has been well-received by franchise fans. Liefeld's pitch of recreating the iconic The Avengers moment between Hulk and Loki, which was previously recreated in Thor: Ragnarok between Mark Ruffalo and Hemsworth's hero, is sure to be a promising concept man hope gets to come to life, namely after Deadpool's ragdoll antics with Juggernaut in his first two movies.

With the film now being set within the House of Mouse's franchise, questions have swirled over how far Deadpool 3 will go into the MCU. Writers Reese and Wernick have not only promised Disney being hand-off with the creative reins on the film, but also recently teasing that no MCU movie will be safe from Deadpool 3's insults, leaving the door open for Reynolds' Merc with a Mouth to interact with Ruffalo's Hulk, Hemsworth's Thor and a variety of other characters. While audiences await further details on the long-awaited threequel, they can revisit the first two Deadpool movies now streaming on Disney+ alongside fellow R-rated X-Men movie Logan.
