Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) is stuck in a rainstorm in new set photos that have surfaced from Deadpool 2. The sequel, of course, is the hotly anticipated follow up to the 2016 blockbuster Deadpool, which grossed more than $783 million globally ($363 million domestically and $420 million overseas). The box office numbers were particularly impressive since Deadpool was an R-rated superhero movie release; and along with Hugh Jackman's R-rated smash Logan, the numbers have studios that own superhero properties wondering whether they should make the leap to from the family-friendly PG-13 territory into the adult-focused R-rated realm.

After months of waiting as casting for the sequel fell into place, Deadpool 2 finally began production earlier this month, with Reynolds teasing a shot of the X-Men mansion in a tweet. Earlier this week, Reynolds also posted a photo to commemorate the first day of production with a photo of a clapboard, and Josh Brolin teased his Cable role with a photo in the makeup FX chair.

While neither photo tweeted by the actors was that revealing, a new set of images posted by Just Jared is giving the first official look at Reynolds on set as Wade unmasked, following its look earlier this week of the masked Merc with a Mouth crashing a child’s birthday party. The publication also shared the photos in a tweet, shown below. News 1130 also had a video taken from the set.

There are multiple photos of Wade in rain posted by Just Jared, but there's not a huge amount of variation in them. Apart from the main shots, Reynolds is also pictured wearing a black hooded zip-up sweatshirt with the hood up (Just Jared claims he's merely warming up after shooting a scene). Perhaps most interesting are action shots of a silhouetted figure who appears to be Wade being hit by a car in the rainstorm.

Now while the photos from the set of Deadpool 2 featured on Just Jared are probably unauthorized, its unlikely that 20th Century Fox will cause a huge stir over it (the birthday party photos may be different story). After all, fans already know what Wade looks like unmasked from the first film. But don't expect the studio be so forgiving if shots of new characters like Josh Brolin as Cable , Zazie Beetz as Domino, and  Jack Kesy as Black Tom start to surface.

Naturally, Fox is going to want to keep the production under tight wraps to avoid any spoilers as fans anxiously await the film's June 1, 2018, release date, so they'll consider these first two sets of unauthorized set photos as red flags in what is certain to be a highly secretive production.
