Deadpool 2 Teaser Trailer Gets the LEGO Treatment

Deadpool Gets LEGO Treatment

The Bob Ross-themed Deadpool 2 teaser trailer has gotten the LEGO toy treatment. Everyone's favorite Merc with a Mouth is set to return to the big screen in June 2018, and the official Deadpool 2 teaser trailer allowed fans of the character to get a sneak peek at exactly what director David Leitch has in store for audiences.

The trailer itself has certainly caused quite a stir, from its brilliant take on Bob Ross and The Joy of Painting through to its quick-fire procession of action scenes and character reveals. With even Rob Liefeld giving his reaction to the teaser trailer, it's clear that Deadpool 2's unconventional approach has worked like a charm. Now, the trailer has even been given a LEGO-themed makeover.

This LEGO trailer for Deadpool 2 is a shot-by-shot recreation of the original teaser, with Deadpool et al swapped out for LEGO counterparts. Since Deadpool is likely to be quite low on the list of comic book characters set to get an official LEGO movie makeover, the trailer certainly works well for those longing for that crossover, and its painstaking effort to create a seamless LEGO version of the initial teaser is certainly impressive. The trailer itself, which was created by Huxley Berg Studios, can be seen at the top of this post.

Of course, this is far from the only movie based on a Marvel property to get a LEGO makeover. Logan received a LEGO trailer in December of last year, for instance, while the Spider-Man: Homecoming LEGO trailer also impressed. Deadpool is possibly the most left-field choice of superhero to get the LEGO trailer treatment, but the world is all the better for it.

As of yet, Deadpool 2 still remains something of a mystery for fans. Although Fox has now released the official synopsis for the movie, it's a little bit on the esoteric side, reading "after surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste."

Because of this, speculation has been rife surrounding the project, with some compelling arguments revealed about who the Deadpool 2 villain will be. Although this new LEGO trailer isn't going to reveal any new information about the film, at the very least it's an extremely entertaining way to wait out some more official news.
