A brand new trailer for Deadpool 2 has arrived online. Following a Bob Ross-inspired teaser with basically a few seconds of real footage and a proper Deadpool 2 trailer officially introducing us to the newest mutant in town, Cable (Josh Brolin), Fox has released the second and presumably final full-length trailer for the Ryan Reynolds-starring flick. Directed by John Wick co-director David Leitch, who took over the sequel from original Deadpool helmer Tim Miller, the still-untitled followup will see the return of some familiar faces, along with the introduction of brand new ones that could potentially become Wade Wilson's trusted crew moving forward.
Plot details are still scant at the moment. The trailers have been doing a good job hyping people up on Reynolds' return as Deadpool, while also keeping the film's narrative under wrap. Given Wade's knack for breaking the fourth wall, Fox has been able to get away with this by filling the Deadpool 2 trailer with funny quips, without giving away key story beats at the same time. Most fans are hopeful that with original Deadpool writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese being back for the sequel, the story for Deadpool 2 should live up to the standard for quality established by its predecessor. If nothing else, Deadpool 2 promises to be a bigger and crazier sequel in (hopefully) all the best ways.

Check out the latest and possibly final Deadpool 2 trailer in the space above!
The two-minute trailer finally gives us some information about what's going on in the movie, which is exactly the right thing to do considering that this is the final trailer for the follow-up. From the looks of it, it seems like Hunt for the Wilderpeople's Julian Dennison will be the main reason for Deadpool and Cable to cross paths - while the latter (presumably) time travels to kill the boy, the former is determined to keep him alive as he apparently developed ties to Wade and Vanessa. The preview paints Nathan Summers as a bad guy, but considering his complicated relationship in the comics with the Merc With a Mouth, we won't be surprised if they eventually start working together towards the film's end to fight the real bad guy.
As expected, the clip is full of Easter Eggs including a shoutout to the film The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants, a film starring Reynolds' wife, Blake Lively and a mention of X-Force - the team of mutants in print that usually handle more sensitive missions and the title of the upcoming spin-off film from Drew Goddard starring Reynolds and Brolin. Other easily-missed details include Wade playing around with Professor X's iconic wheelchair and a jab at the MCU's Spider-Man actor Tom Holland. Finally, things get ultra-meta when Wade and Weasel casually talk about the chances of a third movie in the franchise.
Over the last few weeks, Deadpool 2 has been the talk of the town regarding rumors that it wasn't well-received during test screenings like its predecessor. The speculations were worsened by the late reshoots - a phenomenon that people nowadays usually equate with a studio's last-ditch effort to improve a lackluster film. And despite a subsequent report revealing that the sequel is actually doing well during screenings, the negative buzz about the film won't fully die down until the first wave of reactions from its premiere night are out. The best Fox and Reynolds can do for now is kick their marketing machine up a notch and win people over with fresh and innovative ways of promoting the film.
