Although it's hard to imagine, there were almost baby Deadpools running around on set during Deadpool 2, as Ryan Reynolds admitted the initial script for the film would have seen Wade Wilson as a dad.
Perhaps Wade Wilson as a father is not entirely unimaginable, he is in a solid relationship with Vanessa (Morena Baccarin). The two became very close in the first movie and celebrated every holiday one could think of (including International Women's Day) doing the very thing that is often referred to as "making babies." Their relationship is a focal point of that movie. In spite of Wilson's accident that gives him superpowers but leaves him scarred, Vanessa sticks by and supports him through thick and thin. At its heart and in spite of its raunchy comedy, the first Deadpool movie really was a romantic comedy.

Reynolds, who portrays Deadpool and acted as a producer and co-writer on Deadpool 2, recently opened up about the first script written for the movie to EW:
"The genesis of it was 'What if Deadpool had a child?' Like, what if we started five years later and what would that be like? By page 1.5, it was totally untenable. We were just like, ‘Nope. Nope. No, no, no. This is never, ever going to work.’ We went back to the drawing board and kind of reworked it in a way about wanting to have a child, which is something that so many people I know experience on a daily basis — wanting to have a child but can’t."
So it seems that Wade and Vanessa will struggle with trying to have a child, while Deadpool goes up against Cable and starts forming his X-Force team and expanding the X-Men universe. But it's their relationship that will cement the "family film", as well as Reynolds' chops as a romantic comedy actor. In fact, it was this that got Josh Brolin to admit that he signed up to play Cable in Deadpool 2 because of Reynolds' work in The Proposal. Obviously, Brolin has a good sense of humor that fits right in with the comedy of the movie.
Meanwhile, promotion for Deadpool 2 continues to amp up before its opening on May 18, including a music video where Deadpool dances his heart out (though, it's not Reynolds) while Céline Dion belts out a song that is full of heartbreak and hope. New TV spots have Deadpool mounting a stripper pole, while one teaser shows Deadpool training to become a member of the X-Men. The official poster points out that the movie comes from "the studio that killed Wolverine."
Considering that the first Deadpool movie used the poop emoji in its promotion, it looks like Deadpool 2 will be the same kind of bawdy and R-rated laughfest that made the first film such a success. Fans can also expect to get even more ridiculous action and jokes than in the previous movie, as well as those wonderful moments where Deadpool breaks the fourth wall and talks directly to them.
