An irreverent (what else?) synopsis has been released for the Ryan Reynolds superhero sequel Deadpool 2. There's no arguing that Deadpool became the most unconventional superhero movie to ever hit the big screen when it debuted in 2016, as right from the opening credits the film signaled that the Merc with a Mouth was finally getting his say after the character's underwhelming debut in 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Proving the character was a wiseass of epic proportions, Reynolds, in the guise of Wade Wilson/Deadpool not only mercilessly cracked up moviegoers, Deadpool was a smashing hit with critics on Rotten Tomatoes with an 84 percent rating. Most important of all, the R-rated romp became one of a handful of R-rated films to eclipse the $300 million mark at the domestic box office, raking in more than $363 million stateside plus $420 million more overseas for a blistering worldwide take of more than $783 million.

Not surprisingly, fans have been clamoring for information on Deadpool 2 since the sequel was announced, and were rewarded handily with the announcements that Josh Brolin would be playing fan favorite Cable and Zazie Beetz was cast as Domino. And while Ryan, Brolin and company have been keeping fans up to speed with various social media posts throughout the production, 20th Century Fox has finally released an official synopsis for the film, which is set for a June 1, 2018, release.

Keeping in line Deadpool's penchant for the being playful, the synopsis, naturally, reads like something you would only expect from a Deadpool movie:

After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry's hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor - finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World's Best Lover.

While fans are basically getting no real movie information from the official synopsis (we think), there's no question that the hilarious breakdown for the film is perhaps the best non-information information from a film that any movie fan could hope for. In a way, it's appropriate that the Deadpool sequel goes with a description that's completely off the wall, because fans should be readying themselves for something equal to, if not more, offbeat when the film makes its debut in theaters in a little over six months. To let fans know what exactly is going to happen at this juncture might just spoil too much of the fun that lies ahead.

The great part about the synopsis is, it's the latest in what will undoubtedly be a long line of gags leading up to the release of Deadpool 2. Most recently, fans were treated to a Thanksgiving-themed Good Housekeeping cover featuring Deadpool and his cinematic family, giving fans enough to feast while they wait for more.
