Jen is played by Christina Applegate while Judy is portrayed by Linda Cardellini. Jen, a mother of two boys, is a little unhinged since losing her husband. Judy, on the other hand, is living more carefree. The women have very different personalities but they complement each other. The same goes for Applegate and Cardellini as they have noticeable chemistry onscreen. Despite diving into some very heartwrenching aspects of grief, Dead To Me is packed with well-timed humor. It's no question why viewers are hoping for Dead To Me season 2.

Dead To Me Season 2 Renewal

Netflix ordered Dead To Me season 2 mere weeks after season 1 premiered. Considering that Dead To Me season 1 ended on a cliffhanger, a second season is necessary in order to give viewers a proper conclusion to the series, should Netflix not want to continue it beyond two seasons.

Dead To Me Season 2 Release Date Info

Dead To Me

Dead To Me season 1 debuted on Netflix in early May, a little over a year after it was announced. With filming on season 1 beginning in late fall/early winter and then releasing in May, it doesn't seem difficult for Dead To Me season 2 to follow the same schedule. In that case, Dead To Me season 2 would most likely release in late spring or early summer of 2020.

Dead To Me Season 2 Story Details

If Dead To Me season 2 happens, it will focus on the events following the shocking cliffhanger which closed out the debut season. Jen's life has turned upside down since the death of her husband. But after learning that the hit and run death came at the hands of her new best friend made matters even more complicated. Steve (James Marsden) was playing with fire in his illegal business dealings but his threatening demeanor caused Jen to shoot him dead. As he's lying dead in the pool, Jen turns to Judy for help.

Will the duo cover up Steve's death or will they come clean about everything? Jen seemed to be absolutely done with Judy in her life but the latest incident might have given her a change of heart. Their friendship is clearly dysfunctional but they're in it together now. All the secrets and lies are interwoven between both of their lives.

Dead To Me season 2 would show the next chapter of their complicated journey as they try to stay afloat without bringing in too much attention to their wrongdoings. Providing a stable life for her children is Jen's priority but the anguish after killing Steve will undoubtedly throw her off course. She may need Judy by her side more than ever to get through this latest traumatic event. Judy, of course, will need her own support for everything she has been through. With Steve now permanently out of the picture, she may be able to breathe a little more freely. Considering there were so many twists and turns in Dead To Me season 1, it's very likely that there are a few remaining mysteries left to be uncovered in the lives of Jen and Judy.
