In particular, the cliffhanger finale of season 1 left many fans reassessing how they viewed the series. For its next round of episodes, Dead to Me looks to continue in that direction. The dramedy promises to pick up on season 1’s many questions, while also introducing new characters into the story. The full trailer, which has arrived courtesy of Netflix, also includes a potential spoiler about a returning character that might complicate things for Jen and Judy even more. Check it below.

Dead to Me has received a favorable critical reception so far. In a good sign that the series may be able to avoid falling into the slump that second installments of Netflix shows sometimes experience, much of the praise has been centered around the chemistry of Applegate and Cardellini. Their individual performances have also been lauded, with Applegate receiving a bevy of nominations for her portrayal of Judy.

The series is similarly accomplished behind the camera. Feldman was recognized by the Writers Guild of America, nabbing an award for her writing of the pilot episode. Will Ferrell and Adam McKay, for their part, serve as executive producers. Audiences won’t have to wait long to see how Dead to Me season 2 shakes out, as it will be available to stream starting on May 8.
