Dead to Me was a riveting watch for Netflix users that fans can't get enough of. With crime, romance and family drama, there are so many dynamic and intriguing elements of this series, but the characters are certainly what keep fans coming back.

Every character this show offers has their flaws, but they also have qualities that make fans empathize with them and root for them. Of course, some are better at stealing fans' hearts than others, though.

After two years, Dead To Me has finally aired its third and final season. The hit black comedy picked up right where season 2 left off, answering many of fans' most pressing questions while taking them on a wild season of twists and turns. While the drama and stakes have changed slightly, the characters remain their true messy selves, and fans can't help but argue with each other over who really is the most liked Dead to Me character. With the completion of all the major arcs, it's easier now more than ever to figure out who reigns supreme.

10 Steve Wood

Steve Wood standing outside in a suit in Dead To Me

Steve may be ambitious and charming, but it becomes pretty clear that he's extremely self-absorbed and a bully that likes to take advantage of others around him. Judy always deserved better than him, and his lashing out at her, and his huge ego was almost too much to bear.

This character might actually be the most selfish of them all, and he is so greedy that he is willing to step on others without any guilt or remorse. Beyond that, fans will never forgive him for all the terrible things he said to Jen. He had his demise coming.

9 Lorna Harding

Lorna in a house showing, looking at Jen concerningly in Dead To Me

While Lorna Harding might not be as bad as Scott Wood, she's still a terrible character who makes Jen's life harder instead of easier. As Jen's mother-in-law, Lorna is selfish, completely dismissive, and harsh on her.

Beyond that, she's overbearing as a grandmother and has an arrogant and condescending attitude that annoys far more than just Jen. She tries to take custody of the boys, and she never gives Jen a break from her rudeness. She doesn't let up, not even in season 3 when it's clear that Jen and Judy have things under control.

8 Ben Wood

Steve's twin may have entered the show in high spirits, and he was a pretty dorky guy with a seemingly big heart. In fact, the only thing that's really unlikable about him is the surprise hit-and-run that he's responsible for in the finale of season 2.

In season 3, Steve begins to redeem himself, coming clean to Jen and Judy about the nature of the hit-and-run that left them bruised and battered. He also confronts his alcoholism and tries to be a better person. But fans are still apprehensive of him, like Jen, for involving Jen's son in the mess.

7 Michelle Gutierrez

Michelle smiling at Judy in Dead To Me

Viewers of this show haven't got the chance to learn too much about Michelle, but she's undeniably fierce, funny, smart, and charming. She's also a selfless and loyal person who is willing to open her heart to anyone who needs it.

Mainly though, fans fell head over heels for Michelle just as quickly as Judy Hale did. Her free spirit and alluring personality make her memorable and likable. In season 3, fans got to see more of her relationship with her mom and Judy and even encouraged Judy to tell the others about her cancer diagnosis. She might not be the right person for Judy, but she definitely cares about her.

6 Nick Prager

This character has also had a difficult past, and while he may be hard to get to know or pry open, he is a pretty admirable guy. Nick is devoted, ambitious, kind, and loyal. He wants to do what's right at all times and shows a great deal of respect and care for Judy.

Nick really steps up his game in season 3, becoming obsessed with figuring out the case of Steve's death while also befriending Ben. He struggles immensely between his friendships and the law but ultimately redeems himself by arresting Steve when he lets Jen flee the country with Judy after she confesses to murdering Steve.

5 Ana Perez

Ana Perez at her door, talking to Judy in Dead To Me

Ana is another character that's pretty hard to get to know, but Judy tries her hardest to do so. She's quiet, hardworking, and extremely analytical. Ana Perez is a detective that's all about duty and finding the criminals, which can make her a bit unlikable since she's always pushing Judy away.

Yet during the second season, fans get to learn about her own personal troubles and see a side of her that's warm and understanding. She shockingly lets Jen off the hook because she knows it's the right thing to do. And she continues to cover for Jen in season 3 despite risking her own livelihood.

4 Charlie Harding

Charlie in Steve's car, looking in the rearview mirror with the sunglasses in Dead To Me

Fans might have a love-hate relationship with Charlie Harding, but it is pretty hard to hate him. He's a rebellious and angsty teenager, so his decisions are definitely a bit chaotic or reckless. However, Charlie's sarcasm and wit are pretty hilarious and lovable.

Beyond that, and despite his teenage-son attitude, he would protect his mom and his brother at all costs. He has a good heart at the end of the day, and he has intelligence and maturity to him that's impossible not to like and respect. He shows maturity and protectiveness in season 3 when he goes off on Ben for drinking while driving and injuring his mom.

3 Henry Harding

Henry sitting at the island in the kitchen in Dead To Me

If there is one character that is truly impossible to have any bad feelings for, it's Henry Harding. This young, pure soul is as innocent and sweet as they come. He's selfless, kind, and has such a big heart that's always willing to help and accept everything and everyone around him.

Henry may just be a kid, and it's hard to really get to know a young child, but he is certainly far from unlikeable. Henry gives birds funerals and sings in the church choir, and there's really nothing more adorable than that. Though, he's far from the best character since fans don't get to see much of him.

2 Jen Harding

Jen Harding smiles in Dead To Me

Jen is the protagonist of the series, and it's no secret that she has endured some extreme adversity. It's also not lost on fans that she doesn't always make the right decisions, and she's guilty of lashing out or closing herself off from everyone around her. However, Jen still has a huge heart. Her intentions are never vicious or unkind, and she will do anything for the people she cares about. She has a strength and fire that's unmatched, and this makes her admirable. Plus, her sarcastic wit and dry humor makes fans love her even more.

Jen's complicated life got even more complicated in season 3, but it was her ride-or-die friendship approach with Judy that maintained her fan-favorite status. She became the rock of the family in more ways than one, even when she was dealing with looming murder charges and unwanted pregnancy.

1 Judy Hale

Linda Cardellini as Judy in Dead To Me

There might not be a character that's as zany or chaotic as Judy Hale, but there's also not one with a bigger heart. Judy is bursting with quirks that are both cringy and lovable, and at the end of the day, Judy wants what is best for everyone around her. She always tries to make amends (even if it doesn't go well), and she has a free spirit and kindness to her that perfectly compliments her funny moments and her quirky traits. Judy has done some pretty terrible things, but her heart is always in the right place.

As the fan favorite, many Dead to Me fans were displeased with Judy's season 3 ending. However, even in the face of cancer and her own demise, she remained selfless and kind. She took the rap for Steve's murder when she didn't have to, and she was there for Jen through the pregnancy. She even had the decency to leave before Jen had to deal with her heartbreaking death.
