A side-by-side comparison between the upcoming Dead Space remake and the original 2008 game demonstrates the full extent of the remake's graphical upgrades. Developed by Motive Studio, the remake will recreate the first game's terrifying events while making various changes to its gameplay and story. A recent Dead Space remake preview shined light on the USG Ishimura's redesigned corridors and revitalized monsters, and now fans can directly compare the old and the new.

The updated version of Dead Space will stick closely to the original sci-fi horror classic's plot. However, rather than remaining silent like in the original game the remake will have protagonist Isaac Clarke fully voiced like he was in the sequels. This is sure to have a substantial impact on the game's story and tone, with Isaac commenting on events and demonstrating his personality. The Dead Space remake will also make several adjustments to gameplay, with players flying around in zero-gravity environments rather than clumsily jumping from wall to wall. A Dead Space remake gameplay trailer also shows off the 2023 title's overhauled graphics, which are sure to create an even more spine-chilling experience.

A YouTube video from GameSpot directly compares 2008's Dead Space to its upcoming 2023 remake. The cooridors of the USG Ishimura are absolutely breathtaking on current-generation consoles, with enhanced lighting ands shadows ramping up the tension and improving player immersion. Isaac's suit model has also been greatly improved, as has the look of the Necromorphs. The undead alien creatures are ripped apart with every shot from Isaac's weapons, leaving a spectacularly gory mess behind after every encounter. The comparison video also reveals more of Isaac's voice line, which substantially change the tone of every cutscene and conversation.

The Dead Space Remake Breathes New Life Into Sci-Fi Horror

Motive Studio has confirmed that the Dead Space remake won't release on PS4, allowing the project to fully embrace the power of current-generation consoles. The original version of the game only launched about 15 years ago, but utilizing the full power of modern hardware lets the remake achieve a very noticeable jump in performance and graphics quality. The Dead Space remake will allegedly have no loading screens, except when Isaac dies, which likely wouldn't be possible to achieve on the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.

Dead Space may not be a particularly dated game yet, but Motive Studios' remake still looks to completely overhaul the beloved sci-fi horror experience. Everything from the Ishimura's hallways to the Necromorphs' blood splatter has been spectacularly upgraded, allowing players to more effectively immerse themselves in Isaac Clarke's harrowing journey. Set to release on January 23, 2023, the Dead Space remake will breathe new life into the terrifying void of space.

    Summary:
EA Motive, developers of Star Wars Battlefront II's campaign, handles the next chapter of Dead Space's sci-fi horror with the remake of the original title, Dead Space. Set in the 26th century, engineer Isaac Clarke joins a team sent to investigate the recent radio silence that has fallen on the "planet cracker" vessel, the USG Ishimura. Isaac's stake is personal, as the final distress signal came from Isaac's girlfriend, Nicole Brennan. Unfortunately, their arrival is hardly welcoming, as the team is immediately besieged by mutated, undead versions of Ishimura's crew members. Isaac must learn to adapt and dispatch his foes in seemingly less conventional ways to save Nicole, any survivors of the ship, and himself. Like the original, the only way to kill the zombified crew is to cut off their limbs using weaponized engineering tools Isaac procures.
