Next month, Dead by Daylight will be releasing its new character, the Cenobite, also known as Hellraiser’s Pinhead. The Cenobite features new perks and abilities that players may need help getting used to. Although the Cenobite may take some time to learn, the upcoming killer can be one of the most adept at hooking players in Dead by Daylight.

The Cenobite’s perks and abilities allow him to traverse the map quickly to trap survivors. Using Deadlock, Hex: Plaything, and Scourge Hook, this killer can frustrate survivors with obstacles and curses. Especially when combined with the Cenobite’s powers, players get caught in chains that slow them down significantly.

  • Deadlock, blocks the generator with the most progress for 20 seconds after another generator is fixed. Players can use this ability to track the most-repaired generator. Survivors will likely return to this generator after the 20 seconds is up. Use this time to attack returning survivors.
  • Hex: Plaything curses the first hooked survivor and activates a totem. Survivors become oblivious until they cleanse the totem. This ability allows the Cenobite to find panicked players and pounce on the opportunity to strike.
  • Scourge Hook: Gift Pain affects up to four random hooks at the start of the match. When survivors are unhooked, they suffer from a Hemorrhage and Mangled until fully healed. Unhooked survivors also suffer from a 7% penalty to healing and repair actions, which makes them an immediate target for team healing.

Using Hellraiser's Pinhead Cenobite Perks And Abilities Effectively

The Cenobite’s main power in Dead by Daylight is Summons of Pains, which creates a long-range portal that shoots out a chain. Players have control over the chain and use it to trap enemies. Survivors become slower and can’t sprint while trapped. Players can use this chain to close the gap toward a survivor much quicker. This portal does not teleport as effectively as the Nurse's portals, but it certainly closes the distance just fine. Use this ability often since the cooldown is not exceptionally long. Killers can use this ability in quick succession while chasing a player in a loop. This ability is especially great for aggressive killers who like to take on survivors directly.

The Cenobite’s secondary power, Lament Configuration, initiates a chain hunt when left alone. The hunt ends when a survivor picks up the configuration. This survivor also becomes oblivious while the configurations spawns attacking chains. This survivor must solve the configuration to remove the effects, but the killer can see their aura. When the survivor has an aura, the killer can track them down and use Summons of Pains to trap them further. The combination of all the Cenobite’s powers and perks makes for a phenomenal, aggressive addition to the Dead by Daylight roster. Although the Stranger Things content will be leaving in November, the Hellraiser content is an exciting addition to Dead by Daylight.
