The latest DLC teaser for Dead by Daylight seems to hint that Hellraiser's Pinhead will serve as the asymmetrical multiplayer title's next Killer. Most of the major horror icons have previously stalked their way through Dead by Daylight's winding locales.

Nightmare on Elm Street's Freddy Krueger joined the Dead by Daylight lineup in late 2017, for instance. Haddonfield killer Michael Myers raised hell in the online title the year prior, arriving in The Halloween Chapter. The likes of Ghost Face of Scream fame and the Demogorgon from Stranger Things have previously entered the fray, too. And a fair few horror icons from gaming have cause quite the stir in the world of Dead by Daylight as well, with Resident Evil's Nemesis and Silent Hill's Pyramid Head counting among the bunch in question. So who might Behaviour Interactive call upon next to hunt down unsuspecting survivors? Apparently, Pinhead may be on the docket.

Earlier today, the Dead by Daylight Twitter account uploaded a 16-second teaser trailer. The brief video showcases an analog television with a VCR underneath, static buzzing in the background as its top-right corner reads, "19:87." Quick glimpses of red blooming flowers appear after a few seconds, then the clip comes to an end, a bell lightly tolling as the Dead by Daylight logo holds our attention. While the "1987" bit has some Five Nights at Freddy fans convinced that an animatronic Killer will soon be on the loose, Hellraiser faithful have noted the TV scene directly references the franchise's 1987 debut. It seems Pinhead DLC is on the horizon.

Now seems as good a time as any to bring Pinhead back into the spotlight, considering a Hellraiser reboot film is currently in the works from Director David Bruckner. Pinhead could also prove a powerhouse in terms of gameplay, thanks to his unbelievably expansive abilities that include everything from teleportation and shapeshifting to manipulation and illusion casting.

Dead by Daylight first launched on PC in 2016, then migrated to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles the following year. The hit title has since gone on to release across Nintendo Switch and mobile platforms, giving countless other players a chance to experience the 4v1 asymmetrical horror it has on offer.
