Each Killer in Dead By Daylight comes with a special killer ability, a weapon, and three unique Perks to use against the Survivors. Dead By Daylight is an asymmetrical horror game, meaning the Killer runs solo while Survivors work together in teams of four to escape unharmed. Unlike Survivors, who can eventually use any combination of the same Perks, Items, and Add-Ons with any character, the choice of Killer matters for their unique powers. Several Dead By Daylight Killers are built for stealth, their powers allowing them to sneak up on unsuspecting Survivors for quick attacks.

Four Killers in Dead By Daylight are particularly good at sneaking around largely undetected, and extra Perks and Add-Ons can make their abilities even more potent. There are certain Perks that improve a Killer's stealth, but the best sneaky Killers in Dead By Daylight are those whose powers already make them stealthy before Perks. While no Killer is ever completely invisible, these characters can gain an advantage over a Survivor, especially a panicked one, using the element of surprise. Here are the best sneaky Killers to choose from in Dead By Daylight and how players can make their stealth stronger.

How to Choose a Stealth Killer in Dead By Daylight

The best sneaky Killers in Dead By Daylight are good at avoiding detection by Survivors, often appearing and striking before the Survivor has a chance to run. To do this, they will often be able to shorten their Terror Radius or become Undetectable.

Players wanting to be a sneaky Killer in Dead By Daylight should choose one of the following characters:

The Spirit

The Spirit can Phase Walk long distances, teleporting to new locations without being seen. While using Phase Walk, Survivors are invisible, but The Spirit can see scratch marks. After leaving the Spirit World, The Spirit moves considerably more quickly. Her three unique Perks, Rancor, Hex: Haunted Ground, and Spirit Fury allow her to see most Survivors and quickly break Pallets while in a chase.

The Wraith

The Wraith begins a Trial cloaked and may only kill when uncloaked. He cloaks and uncloaks by ringing the Wailing Bell, announcing his presence. While cloaked, Survivors can only see a faint shimmer and may hear some growling. His three unique Perks, Predator, Bloodhound, and Shadowborn, helps him track and find Survivors for quick attacks and area control.

The Ghostface

The Ghostface, a licensed Dead By Daylight character from the Scream franchise, can use his Night Shroud to enter stealth mode and silently stalk killers. He can make them suffer from the Exposed status effect or become Oblivious to his presence, preventing them from hearing a Terror Radius until it is too late. His three unique Perks, I'm All Ears, Thrilling Tremors, and Furtive Chase can help him better track Survivors, even in stealth, and slow down Generator progress.

The Pig

Amanda Young, also known as The Pig, from the SAW series has the unique ability to crouch into stealth, then lunge at Survivors at top speeds from short distances. The combination of stealth and speed can make her deadly and efficient. Her three unique Perks, Hangman's Trick, Surveillance, and Make Your Choice allows her to track Survivors trying to sabotage, repair Generators, or unhook.

As Killer players unlock Teachable perks in each character's Bloodweb, they can experiment with different loadouts to complement Killer powers. Good stealth Perks to add to any Killer for bonus sneakiness include:

  • Beast of Prey (The Huntress): Upon gaining Bloodlust at Tier 1, Killers are Undetectable as long as Bloodlust is active.
  • Insidious: After standing still for 4/3/2 seconds, Killers become Undetectable until they move again.
  • Monitor and Abuse (The Doctor): The Killer's Base Terror Radius is increased by 8 meters, but while outside of a Chase, their Terror Radius is reduced by 16 meters.
  • Tinkerer (The Hillbilly): When a Generator is repaired to 70%, the Killer receives a Loud Noise notification and is granted the Undetectable status effect for 12/14/16 seconds.
  • Trail of Torment (The Executioner): After kicking a Generator, the Killer becomes Undetectable until the Generator stops regressing or they manage to damage a Survivor.

Each sneaky Killer in Dead By Daylight will also have Add-Ons in their Bloodweb to increase the potency of their basic and special attacks as well as their stealth abilities.
