Behaviour Interactive's Dead by Daylight counts as the latest title to participate in the celebration of Resident Evil's 25th anniversary, bringing Leon Kennedy, Jill Valentine, and Nemesis to the online experience. The commemoration of the groundbreaking franchise's anniversary kicked off earlier this year. Notably, The Division 2 released limited-time Resident Evil items back in February.

Of course, publisher Capcom has been honoring the horror property in its own way over the course of the last several months. The company hosted a couple of Resident Evil-centric digital showcases to unveil details and gameplay footage in the lead up to Resident Evil Village's release, for example. And while the main game hit retailers and digital storefronts a few weeks ago, fans are still waiting for the publisher to deploy the delayed multiplayer component, Resident Evil RE:Verse. Fortunately, there will soon be another online experience to tide fans over during the ongoing wait.

During today's Dead by Daylight stream, developer Behaviour Interactive formally unveiled the previously promised Resident Evil crossover. The brief reveal trailer only runs 44 seconds in length but confirms that Leon Kennedy and Jill Valentine will join the asymmetrical multiplayer title as survivors on June 15. Meanwhile, Resident Evil 3 antagonist Nemesis is entering the mix as a brand-new killer on the same date. And, yes, the Resident Evil Chapter of Dead by Daylight will even boast a "new map" of the Raccoon City Police Station.

Undoubtedly, Resident Evil's iconic characters and police station will fit perfectly in the gruesome world of Dead by Daylight. After all, the multiplayer experience has previously played host to the likes of Michael Myers, Ghostface, and Freddy Krueger. Nemesis has proven himself to be just as formidable as the pop culture horror icons that preceded him.

The launch of the forthcoming Resident Evil Chapter couldn't come at a better time either, considering Dead by Daylight will celebrate its fifth anniversary in mid-June. Behaviour Interactive's survival horror title continues to make waves in the PC and console space, debuting on Nintendo Switch less than two years ago. The online-only adventure is doing well on mobile devices, too. April marked one year since the rollout of Dead by Daylight Mobile, an app that has since garnered an impressive 17 million downloads on Android and iOS.
