The Roots of Dead update for Dead by Daylight includes a new Survivor, Haddie Kaur, who was previously only mentioned in Tome entries. The new DLC expansion is set to release on June 7, 2022, and also includes The Dredge, a new Killer with the ability to engulf Survivors in complete darkness. Haddie Kaur's abilities help Survivors fight against this powerful new Killer in Dead by Daylight.
Although Haddie Kaur's childhood was filled with love and affection, the loss of her parents caused her to develop the unique ability to interact with the Ravage, a dimension that leaks into hers in areas she named Overlaps. After investigating and reporting on the horrifying things she saw in the Ravage, Haddie became a professional podcaster that traveled to the world's most haunted places. In one investigation, she was shown a vision of the death of her parents. After witnessing their suffering, she was consumed with grief and pulled into the darkness.
The newest Survivor has three unique perks that help her track the Killer and repair generators more efficiently. Haddie's abilities include Inner Focus, Residual Manifest, and Overzealous. Inner Focus allows Haddie to see the scratch marks of other Survivors in Dead by Daylight up to 32 meters away, and whenever a teammate loses a Health State, the Killer's Aura will be revealed to her. The Residual Manifest perk allows Haddie to search an open chest once per trial with a guarantee of looting a basic flashlight. After a successful Killer Blind, this perk also applies the Blindness status effect to the Killer for up to 30 seconds when fully upgraded. When Haddie cleanses a totem, Overzealous is activated and will increase her repair speed. However, Overzealous deactivates as soon as Haddie loses a Health State.
How To Win As Haddie Kaur In Dead By Daylight
Haddie Kaur is a useful Survivor, especially against the new Killer in Dead by Daylight, The Dredge. Being able to pull a flashlight out of any open chest and apply the Blindness effect to the Killer will help increase the chances of surviving against The Dredge. When The Dredge's Nightfall ability is activated, nothing is visible except for the Killer, so blinding it will make it much easier to survive in the darkness. The new Killer can also teleport to lockers, so Haddie's Residual Manifest perk can make it easy to quickly react and stun The Dredge.
Haddie is a well-rounded teammate with perks that help repair generators and track the Killer down to temporarily disable it. Being able to see other Survivors' scratch marks can give Haddie a sense of where the Killer might be headed. The best way to play as Haddie is to start off by actively seeking out a totem to cleanse so the Overzealous perk is activated. Even a small increase in generator repair speed can significantly impact the chance of Survivors escaping in Dead by Daylight.
