It's only fitting that an original character who was created for an animated series get one for herself. Harley Quinn first appeared in Batman: The Animated Series in 1992, which took the characters and thematic elements of Tim Burton's 1989 film Batman and carried them over into episodic adventures for the Caped Crusader. Now almost 30 years after she arrived in Batman canon, she gets her own chronicle in DC's Harley Quinn

The animated series showcases a newly single Harley, who's ditched the Joker to make her own mark on Gotham City as a notorious queenpin. Just like in Batman: The Animated Series, the cast is full of recognizable voices from actors who bring life to the many characters in the Batman franchise.

Like Harley Quinn, Penny was underestimated by those around her, especially since she was considered to be of "average" intelligence compared to her group of friends on the show, genius-level engineers and theoretical physics professors who also happened to love comic books. Her character was the most relatable, and represented the audience's point of view as she navigated life among a bunch of lovable nerds.

Lake Bell - In A World
