DC's Legends of Tomorrow brings together some of the misfits, rogues, and forgotten heroes from across the Arrowverse. Traveling through time on the Waverider, the team has gotten incredibly close across their multitude of adventures. In these life-and-death situations, romances started to form.

There have been several narrative threads that showcased a range of new couples. Some of the pairings appeared to be questionable at first but evolved into a strong bond over time, while others simply couldn't survive the escapades that the Legends were experiencing.

Kendra Saunders And Ray Palmer

Atom and Hawkgirl in legends

Val Savage was the very first villain that the team had to face, and indeed the foe that brought the Legends together in the first place. A time traveler and immortal, his own timeline was intertwined with that of Kendra Saunders and Carter Hall. Despite her fate and her link to soulmate Hall, Kendra sought out an alternative life for herself.

She fell in love with the scientist Ray Palmer. They suited up as Atom and Hawkgirl with the rest of the team and even got engaged. It was never meant to be, though, as Kendra's past and future came calling and she would consequently leave the team to find her true place in the universe.

Sara Lance And John Constantine

Sara Lance has had more romances than most in the Arrowverse. Debuting on Arrow as a former partner of Oliver Queen, she has gone through many dark and troubling narratives, which have resulted in her eventually becoming the veteran Captain of the Waverider.

The shadows of her history are exactly what attracted John Constantine to her. With a shared past and a mutual understanding, Constantine and the White Canary had a brief and destructive relationship that could clearly never last. Both have moved on to more suitable partners.

Nate Heywood And Amaya Jiwe

Nate Heywood has fallen in love multiple times on the Waverider and sadly despite his best efforts, it seems to always end in heartbreak. His first relationship was with Amaya Jiwe, a woman out of time. The hero known as Vixen, she carried the legacy of her family's Totem with her.

Nate and Amaya created a life together on Earth, even planning to get married in the future. But Amaya realized she was putting her village in danger by not returning to her historical roots. She left to move back home, leaving Nate a note explaining her actions without ever facing him. Her appearance on the Waverider much later was certainly awkward but there was still affection present.

Sara Lance And Leonard Snart

The rogue and the former assassin. In some ways, Sara Lance and Leonard Snart are a perfect match for one another. But when looking at their arguments, their difference of approach, and their heroic and villainous backgrounds, the couple really shouldn't work.

In the early days of the Legends, though, the two potential team leaders developed a bond that turned romantic. It would have been fascinating to see how this relationship had developed further, but Captain Cold sacrificed his life for the good of the team.

John Constantine And Zari Tarazi

This is one of the most recent additions to the Legends' couple roster and as such it's unclear how it will really play out. John Constantine and Zari Tarazi appear to be a pairing thrown together, but there's an essence of something that could work beneath the surface.

They are polar opposites but bring out the best in one another. They have a good time together, which is perhaps the most important thing when facing down death on a daily basis. The relationship is complex due to Zari 1.0's relationship with Nate, but this appears to be a resolved conflict.

Martin And Clarissa Stein

The Flashpoint storyline which took place in the CW's Flash show saw reality itself rewritten thanks to Barry Allen's reckless time travel. This only benefitted Martin Stein, however, as in this new world he actually had a daughter. What's more, his marriage became healthier than it had ever been.

Before time had been changed, Martin neglected Clarissa, caring more for his equations than his own love life. After going back to try and persuade his younger self to spend more time with Clarissa, though, everything was altered for the better. The tragedy of Stein's death put an end to this love story.

Kendra Saunders And Carter Hall

A storyline that hasn't been developed since the early seasons of the show, Kendra Saunders and Carter Hall are supposedly soulmates. As Hawkman and Hawkgirl respectively, their fates are tied together ever since their ancient Egyptian origins.

This has made Kendra's love life complicated, but after leaving Ray Palmer, she eventually returned to Carter Hall. There's something that will forever draw the two towards one another and a love like that should be celebrated. There isn't much clarity when it comes to what the couple is currently doing in the Arrowverse, after leaving the Legends behind.

Nate Heywood And Zari Tomaz

The will-they, won't-they story of the Waverider, there was clear chemistry between Nate and Zari. So many obstacles continued to surface in their path, though. What's more, the impact of time travel can have a strange effect on any relationship. It even took a lot for Nate to simply get over his ex, Amaya.

When the two finally did come together, their romance was cut short by more Waverider shenanigans. Ultimately, Zari was wiped from the timestream, replaced with an alternative version of the character. The couple's dreams died with this shift in a tragic and moving storyline.

Ray Palmer And Nora Darhk

Ray Palmer has been largely unlucky in love. It appeared that he was being naive when he started to fall for Nora Darhk; it was obviously a betrayal waiting to happen. It never did, though, with the daughter of villain Damien Darhk turning over a new leaf.

As one of the most successful couples in the show, Ray and Nora have managed to scale huge obstacles to be with one another. Nora's imprisonment, the disapproval of her father, and even a period as a Fairy Godmother couldn't stop her from walking down the aisle in one of the Legends' only marriages.

Sara Lance And Ava Sharpe

Sara Lance had never found the right partner. Many of her previous relationships were toxic and dangerous. Despite her fears and lack of romantic connections in the past, Ava Sharpe is a perfect girlfriend. In fact, the personality of each complements the other well.

While Ava can be stern and formal, Sara is chaotic and relaxed. Both have great leadership qualities but can learn a lot from their relationship. They are perfectly suited and the romance will likely go the distance as Legends continues to head to its final destination.
