For three years, fans have been campaigning for the Snyder Cut of Justice League after the disappointment that was the theatrical release of the film. So, when the first official trailer was released at DC Fandome, they were understandably excited to get a glimpse at the film they had been waiting so long to see.

While some of the shots from the trailer are the same or appear in the version they already saw, there is a decent amount of new footage that wasn't in the original film. From a new villain to some familiar scenes shot in a new way, here are ten new things from the Snyder Cut trailer that weren’t in the movie.

Darkseid's Introduction

Justice League Snyder Cut Trailer Darkseid

The trailer's very first shot shows Darkseid wielding a spear-shaped weapon and slamming it into the ground during what seems to be Wonder Woman's history lesson from the theatrical cut. Previously, Steppenwolf was the one leading the forces of Apokolips on Earth in Darkseid's name but now, Darkseid will be doing that himself.

Although the character didn't appear in the first one, he was teased to have a much larger presence in Parts 2 and 3, which ended up getting canceled due to Justice League underperforming both financially and critically. This will be the first time Darkseid has ever appeared in live-action and he is planned to appear later on in DC's New Gods.

Barry Allen Saves Iris West

Another scene shows Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) using his speedster powers to save Iris West (Kiersey Clemons) from a car crash. The scene was a part of the first trailer for the film back in 2017 but ended up not actually being in the film itself. Not only was this scene cut, but Iris was omitted from Justice League's theatrical version.

Snyder has said that we'll be seeing doing the Flash doing some unique stuff since he's a quantum character, so this could be just one example of what he's referring to. That, and Iris will hopefully have an important supporting role in the Snyder Cut.

DeSaad's DCEU Debut

Another new character shown in the trailer happens to be another one of the film's antagonists, DeSaad. In the comics, DeSaad is one of Darkseid's henchmen and the closest thing Darkseid has to an advisor but it's not clear what his role will be in the movie.

Currently, Snyder hasn't revealed much about how big DeSaad's role will be or what he will add to the story. That being said, it's safe to guess that it's more than likely DeSaad will only be in scenes set on Apokolips, Darkseid's home planet, rather than on Earth fighting the League alongside his master.

Steppenwolf's New Design

Justice League Steppenwolf

Originally, many took issue with the character of Steppenwolf, complaining about the CGI used to bring him to life and how rubbery and emotionless he seemed. The Snyder Cut trailer gives us a look at Steppenwolf's updated design, which is closer to the monstrous one that was first shown in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.

This new look features more metallic armor that matches up aesthetically with the other Apokoliptian characters we've seen so far. Hopefully, this means that the other issues people had with the character -- like his weak motivation, plan, and characterization -- have also been improved.

More Victor Stone

Justice League Trailer Vic Stone Football

The Snyder Cut trailer also has several new shots of Victor Stone (portrayed by Ray Fisher) playing football for Gotham City College in the snow before he became Cyborg, which is great since Victor's athletic ability is a large part of his personality. That, and audiences can finally learn more about Cyborg before he became Cyborg.

It's not surprising that Zack featured the character so heavily in the trailer, since Victor was supposed to have a much larger role in his version of the film. In the theatrical cut, Victor barely had an impact on the plot outside of knowing what a Mother Box was. Both Snyder and Fisher stated how much Victor's role was cut in Joss Whedon's version, and the Snyder Cut is more than ready to rectify this issue.

Superman's Black Suit

Justice League Superman Black Suit

One of the biggest let-downs for fans was Superman's return, but the issues people had with it were less about how he came back but what he was wearing after he did in fact come back from death.

In the comics, when Superman resurrected, he was wearing a black and silver suit and rocking a mullet. This signified that while the Man of Steel was indeed back, some parts of his personality and outlook changed. While the mullet doesn't appear in the trailer, the black suit certainly does, bringing to life of one the character's best looks from the source material.

The Speed Force

Snyder Cut_Flash Speed Force

The Speed Force is one of the most important elements from the Flash comics, with almost every single speedster that ever lived in the DC Universe having a connection to it in some way.

While this concept has been explored in the Arrowverse, audiences have yet to properly see it translated onto the big screen. What gets shown in the Snyder Cut could even potentially lay the proper groundwork needed to tell the time travel story that will be explored in The Flashwhich will reportedly take cues from the famous time-travel centric and status quo shifting Flashpoint event.

Silas Stone's Death

Dr. Silas Stone's death in Zack Snyder's Justice League

One of the trailer's more emotional moments shows Silas', Victor's dad, being destroyed by one of the Mother Boxes while Victor screams and futilely reaches out to him.

In the theatrical Justice League, Silas remains alive throughout the film and even upgrades Victor's armor by the end. So, unless this is a vision or a dream sequence, Silas' fate seems like it will be changed for the Snyder Cut to add some more emotional weight to the Cyborg's arc and the story as a whole.

Martha & Lois Reunite With Clark

In the original Justice League, after Superman is resurrected and tries to fight the League, he slowly regains his memories and goes back to the Kent Farm where he and Lois Lane talk in a field. It would have been touching if it were not for the bad sappy dialogue and the infamously terrible CGI used to remove Henry Cavill's mustache.

In the version shown in the trailer, Martha Kent is also in the field with her son and the love of his life, making his resurrection look more heartfelt. Also, the CGI is nowhere present so hopefully, the dialogue is better as well.

A New Knightmare

A Justice League sign is seen amid the rubble of Wayne Manor in the Knightmare Scene from Zack Snyder's Justice League

Another thing that was first shown in Batman v Superman was the Knightmare sequence, where Bruce Wayne has a dream depicting an apocalyptic future in which Superman rules like the Earth as a brutal dictator after the death of Lois Lane. In the Snyder Cut's trailer, we see a glimpse of a similar vision and it shows more of the Earth in ruins.

Among the rubble is a sign with "Justice League" engraved on it that probably came from Snyder's version of the Hall of Justice, Aquaman's fallen trident, and Wonder Woman's broken shield. All of this could be an indication that the Justice League is dead in this timeline. What's not known is what exactly led up to this dark future but since Snyder likes to have connections between his movies, chances are this connects to Bruce's biggest fear from Batman v Superman in some way.
