DC Comics are immensely popular and have been around for a long time. During its decades of fruitful existence, the comics managed to introduce many great characters, both heroes and villains. The comic-book universe became even more known thanks to the movie adaptations.

The DCEU is currently prominent when it comes to live-action movies with the DC superheroes. And while it's primary focus doesn't lie on romantic relationships, the DCEU films have already featured more than one couple - some better, some worse. Either way, there are a lot more couples that appeared in the comics but didn't make it into the DCEU just yet. Some of them are then more likely to show up, while others have virtually no chance at all.

Batman And Catwoman

They sometimes hate each other and fight but more often than not, but there's a special kind of chemistry raging between Batman and Catwoman. Even though they presumably stand on opposite sides of the law, that didn't stop them from falling for the other.

They even got engaged in the comics. Catwoman hasn't appeared in the DCEU as of yet, but the upcoming Batman film with Robert Pattinson will give the audience a new spin on this iconic couple.

The Flash And Iris West

Barry Allen and his girlfriend and later wife, the journalist Iris West, are one of the main couples of the Arrowverse, in the TV show The Flash. And they also got together in the comics even though their relationship wasn't always perfect.

Ezra Miller had a smaller part in the Justice League, but it's only a matter of time before his Barry and Iris could appear on the big screen together.

Batman And Talia Al Ghul

Batman and Catwoman have a complicated relationship but that's still nothing in comparison to the romance between Batman and Talia Al Ghul who's the daughter of none other than Ra's Al Ghul, one of DC's biggest villains.

In many ways, Talia is just as insane as her father is in some versions of the comics, and even though she gave birth to Batman's son Damian, there's no real love lost between her and the caped crusader.

Superman And Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman is usually linked to Steve Trevor and Superman to Lois Lane, but not everybody knows these two powerful superheroes also dated each other. And not just in the comics, but also in the animated films.

Their relationship didn't last too long, but they were a good match in many ways, considering their powers. It's unlikely this relationship will ever make it to the DCEU, though, or at least not anytime soon since both Superman and Wonder Woman were dating other people the last everyone saw them.

Batman And Zatanna

The relationship between these two differs depending on the source material, just like with other less-known superhero couples. Sometimes they're allies, sometimes they're close friends, and sometimes there's a bit more between them.

Batman respects Zatanna despite the fact that he's not that fond of magic (to put it mildly), and she also trusts him. In one comic book storyline, for example, Zatanna had a crush on young Bruce Wayne when he was still traveling around the world and training, but nothing really came out of it.

Batman And Black Canary

For somebody who likes to isolate himself so much as Batman does, he sure had his fair share of romances and flings. And while both Black Canary and Batman already appeared in the DCEU, unlike some other characters on this list, the chance for a relationship between them is down to zero.

Why? Well, most importantly, they were only a couple in the comics on an alternate Earth. And even this relationship was barely more than a fling based on physical attraction and nothing else.

Shazam And Stargirl

It's only for the best that Shazam and Stargirl didn't appear as a couple in the DCEU. After all, Billy Batson, Shazam's real identity, is just a kid. Unfortunately for Stargirl, she had no idea that the seemingly adult superhero was barely more than a teenager in the comics.

And when it came to exposing his identity or breaking up with Stargirl, Shazam ended the ill-advised relationship. No dating kids, please!

Batman And Wonder Woman

Anybody missed Batman just yet? No, seriously, how is the guy doing it? Whatever his secret is, it seems to be working... most of the time, anyway. While it could be a stretch to call them a couple, Wonder Woman has shown her interest in Batman before. And Batman certainly isn't immune to her charms, since he kissed her in the comics.

Plus, unlike most of the couples on this list, these two actually are rather close in the DCEU - or were, at least - and there was genuine chemistry between them, which made many fans which for Bruce and Diana to get together while watching the movies.

Harley Quinn And Poison Ivy

This is the one pairing that has been confirmed in the DCEU but, unfortunately, didn't make it into the film itself. And that's a proper shame considering Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn have a much healthier and more loving relationship than Harley and the Joker ever did.

As for the mention, Harley briefly pointed out in Birds of Prey that she used to date a girl who clearly was Ivy, but the film didn't show their relationship. Maybe next time?

Batman And Batgirl

We started with Batman so it's only appropriate that we will also end with him. This particular relationship got a lot of hate from the fans, both when it appeared in the comics and in the animated movie Batman: The Killing Joke (2016) as well.

The reason for the rejection? Well, for one, Batman is a lot older than Batgirl. He's also a friend - or a close ally, at least - of Barbara's dad, Commissioner James Gordon. There's also the fact that Batgirl is closely romantically linked to Nightwing, Batman's first (now former) Robin. Simply put, this relationship was a mess from the start till the finish line.
