Over the years, Slade Wilson AKA Deathstroke has become an iconic DC villain. So much so that he finally made his big-screen debut in the post-credit scene for 2017's Justice League. Deathstroke was portrayed by Joe Manganiello whom everybody was on board for the moment he was announced.

Unfortunately, all plans featuring his Deathstroke were destroyed after Ben Affleck left the role of Batman, and other projects featuring him were announced. Joe Manganiello will finally return to the role with Zack Snyder's Justice League in March. Many agree that Manganiello's Deathstroke deserves more appearances after but how could the character return?

DC Extended Universe Comics

Deathstroke armed to the teeth

A bit of a cop-out but is not uncommon for films to get comic book tie-ins and sequels. In the six-year gap between Aliens and Alien 3, comics continuing Ripley and Newt's adventures were the norm. With the DC Extended Universe, there is potential for prequel and sequel stories alike.

Using Joe's likeness, fans could see how Ben Affleck's Batman and Deathstroke met, leading to why Lex was recruiting him in Justice League. It also wouldn't be the first time the DCEU had tie-in comics; there were prequels to Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, one of them confirming the existence of Firefly.

His Own Game

Deathstroke

With the DCEU expanding into more media than films via the announced Aquaman animated series, there's no reason why it couldn't spawn a video game. With games like Arkham Origins or Injustice: Gods Among Us, Deathstroke has proven to be a fun character to control.

It could literally be a clone of Arkham Knight with Deathstroke as the lead and fans would eat it up. Especially if Joe Manganiello is providing the face and voice of the character.

Birds Of Prey Sequel

Margo Robbie as Harley Quinn in Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation Of One Harley Quinn)

Harley Quinn: Birds Of Prey wasn't a huge success but fans are open to see more of the Birds Of Prey on their own adventure without Harley. Since the Birds Of Prey are taking on crime organizations, the ladies would likely get a target on their back. Who else to take that contract on but Deathstroke? He would fit well into their brutal R-rated world.

Deathstroke could make for a deadly antagonist that would require the Birds Of Prey to expand and get help. Or perhaps as a twist, the Birds Of Prey and Deathstroke have to work together to stop an even worse villain.

Batgirl

Gotham Knights Batgirl

It was recently reported that a Batgirl movie is in the works for HBO Max. There are plenty of villains for the movie to choose from and Deathstroke is one of them. If Batman won't fight Deathstroke, maybe it's time for Batgirl to take on the assassin.

A villain as deadly and skilled as Deathstroke would be a great way for Barbara to prove that she is capable on her own. Both are geniuses in different ways, so a fight between them would be a mix of brawn and brains.

Deadshot VS Deathstroke

Suicide Squad Deadshot

Two birds, one stone: Will Smith's Deadshot is another character fans say deserves more screentime. So in a perfect solution, why not have the DC universe's greatest assassins go at each other? Think of it as a John Wick meets Jason Bourne kind of film.

Viola Davis' Amanda Waller becomes Deathstroke's target so she hires Deadshot to keep her safe. If Deadshot fails, his daughter will be the next to die. A whole movie dedicated to seeing these two duking it out would definitely draw fans like moths to a flame.

Nightwing

Nightwing vs Deathstroke

Many forget that for years, Deathstroke was originally a villain who fought the Teen Titans. Slade was considered Dick Grayson's greatest rival, hence why Deathstroke was the main villain of Titans' second season. Despite the many flaws with that series, fans adored Esai Morales' Deathstroke and his hatred for Dick Grayson.

If Batgirl can get her own movie, then the DCEU is more than ripe for a Nightwing spinoff. Make Deathstroke the main villain; the rivalry between the two would be compared to others like Batman and Joker or Daredevil and Bullseye.

The Legion Of Doom

Lex Luthor

Aquaman perfectly introduced Black Manta, Batman V Superman introduced Lex Luthor, Suicide Squad introduced The Joker, Justice League introduced Deathstroke, Black Adam is getting his own movie, Cheetah was introduced in Wonder Woman 1984, The Flash is likely to introduce Reverse-Flash, and more are likely to come.

The new Justice League VS the Legion Of Doom is not just ideal, it needs to happen. The potential is too ripe and there has never been such a huge team of iconic DC villains in live-action prior. Fans have been clamoring for this since the idea of a Justice League movie came up.

Suicide Squad 3

The Suicide Squad - Empire Magazine Poster

Task Force X is known for having a constantly revolving roster of members. In one of the various lineups, Deathstroke was indeed a member of the Suicide Squad. James Gunn's The Suicide Squad is unlikely to be an end for all things Suicide Squad so if it's a success, a third movie will be made.

Deathstroke is such a deadpan serious character; him being surrounded by the likes of Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn and King Shark would likely lead to some great banter. Awesome action sequences featuring Deathstroke and the squad would definitely be a bonus.

Deathstroke Solo Project

Deathstroke in Justice League

To get the absolute most out of Joe Manganiello's Deathstroke would be his own spin-off. Whether it's a movie or series for HBO Max, Deathstroke is such a fascinating character who could carry a story on his own.

Delve deeper into the world of assassins with characters like Lady Shiva or Ra's Al Ghul. Feature Deathstroke's complicated relationship with his children. Maybe even cameo some DC heroes every now and then.

Ben Affleck's HBO Max Series

Clearly, it was intended for Deathstroke to be the main villain of Ben Affleck's Batman movie. It was then rewritten and remodeled until becoming the highly-anticipated Matt Reeves film: The Batman. However, there is now a chance that Ben Affleck and Joe Manganiello will face off.

After The Flash, it is rumored that Ben Affleck's Batman will get his own series on HBO Max. If this is true, obviously it would be the perfect opportunity for Ben to finally finish what he originally intended with Deathstroke.
