Zack Snyder's upcoming sci-fi movie Rebel Moon includes three DCEU cast members. Built as a two-part epic, Rebel Moon focuses on a colony in a far away galaxy that finds itself under the assault of a ruthless conqueror known as Regent Balisarius (Ed Skrein). In order to fight against the invasion, a young woman named Kora (Sofia Boutella) is sent to summon warriors from nearby planets to help defend the colony.

If Rebel Moon sounds like it could have been a Star Wars movie, that's actually how Snyder originally conceived it before reworking it into its own standalone adventure. Rebel Moon is also meant to be the beginning of much bigger plans for spin-offs between Snyder and Netflix, a collaboration that has already produced Army of the Dead and Army of Thieves, with at least one more movie and an animated series in development for that franchise alone. In addition to its huge scope teased in Snyder's concept art, Rebel Moon also boasts an equally huge ensemble cast.

The cast of Rebel Moon includes, among others, Sons of Anarchy lead Charlie Hunnam, Doona Bae, Cary Elwes, and Sir Anthony Hopkins in a robotic voice role, in addition to the aforementioned Boutella and Skrein. Additionally, DCEU fans will also see a number of familiar faces in Rebel Moon, including three actors who have previously appeared in Warner Bros. DCEU franchise.

Ray Fisher

Ray Fisher made a brief appearance in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice as Victor Stone in video footage showing his transformation into Cyborg. Fisher subsequently returned to the role in Zack Snyder's Justice League, with Snyder describing Fisher's Cyborg as "the heart of the movie". In Rebel Moon, Fisher will portray a character known as Blood Axe, whose name suggests significant history for the character as a warrior, an ideal recruit against the M. Bison-like Balisarius.

Djimon Hounsou

Djimon Hounsou has been seen in not one but two different roles in two DCEU movies. Following his appearance as the Fisherman King in Aquaman, Hounsou later appeared as the wizard Shazam, who passes his powers on to Billy Batson (Asher Angel) in Shazam! Hounsou plays General Titus in Rebel Moon, with his set photo showing him bearing heavy battle armor.

Jena Malone

Jena Malone has worked with Zack Snyder on several projects, including Sucker Punch and the upcoming animated series Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas. Malone also made a brief appearance in Batman v Superman as scientist Jenet Klyburn, who helps Lois Lane (Amy Adams) examine a mysterious bullet from the film's opening prologue. Her part was actually cut from the original theatrical release of the film, but restored in the popular Ultimate Edition release. Malone's role in Rebel Moon is currently unknown, though one online theory suggests she might be playing Harmada, an anthropomorphic spider antagonist in Rebel Moon.
