John Krasinski finally reveals his DC League of Super-Pets character: Superman, the biggest DC hero of all. While the live-action side of Warner Bros.' DC stable gears up for highly anticipated releases like The Batman and The Flash, younger audiences will also have something to look forward to in 2022 thanks to DC League of Super-Pets. The animated movie, directed by Jared Stern, is set to arrive in theaters in May; it's expected to get a streaming release on HBO Max 45 days later.

DC League of Super-Pets will see the adorable animal companions of DC's biggest heroes team up for an adventure of their own. Dwayne Johnson, who will make his live-action DCEU debut next year in Black Adam as well, leads the star-studded cast alongside Kevin Hart. The popular duo will voice Krypto the Superdog and Ace the Bat-Hound, respectively. Recently, DC League of Super-Pets announced the rest of its main lineup, which includes Green Lantern's squirrel Chip (Diego Luna), The Flash's turtle Merton (Natasha Lyonne), and Wonder Woman's pig PB (Vanessa Bayer).

Now at least one more mystery in the DC League of Super-Pets cast has been solved. Last night, Krasinski took to social media to reveal he will be voicing Superman for the movie. "Always wanted to do a buddy movie with @TheRock. Well, these are the roles we were born to play!" Krasinski quipped in his post. He also shared a new image from the film, which features Superman flying alongside Krypto, making for an adorable picture of friendship. You can see it with the rest of Krasinski's post down below.

Krasinski is just one part of the impressive DC League of Super-Pets ensemble, which also includes Marc Maron (as Lex Luthor), Jamila Jamil, Kate McKinnon, and Keanu Reeves. It's rather amusing to see the Office alum take on the role of Superman when fans have been clamoring for him to play Reed Richards in the MCU's upcoming Fantastic Four reboot. This voice role would hardly be enough to prevent his Marvel casting if Kevin Feige really did want to recruit him; in fact, it would give Krasinski the distinction of being among the few actors to bridge the gap between both Marvel and DC.

DC League of Super-Pets has been gradually revealing its characters for months now, and now that Krasinski's character has confirmed at least a few heroes will show up, the possibilities for the rest of the cast are endless. Since Krypto and Ace are being positioned as the two de facto leads, one has to assume that Batman will have a role in the movie just like Superman. If that's the case, it would be really exciting to have Reeves voice the Caped Crusader. As DC League of Super-Pets draws closer, expect more casting details to emerge.
