At Nintendo’s Direct this afternoon a host of new, exciting releases, including DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power, were revealed. While several mini Directs have taken place over the last 12 months, this was the first full-length Direct since 2019. DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power will follow multiple iconic characters from the DC universe.
While several announcements made by Nintendo this afternoon were expected, including the latest Smash Bros. fighter reveal, others took the gaming community by surprise. One such surprise is a new multiplayer game from Zynga, Star Wars Hunters, which will be available later in 2021. While little else is currently known about this upcoming Switch title set in a galaxy far far away, more details should be revealed soon, especially given the relatively imminent release.
Joining Star Wars Hunters and the latest Smash Bros. fighters on the Nintendo Switch are some of the world's most beloved Superheroes. Namely, teenagers Batgirl, Supergirl, Wonder Woman. Nintendo announced that DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power will be coming to the Switch on June 4, 2021. Based on the Cartoon Network DC series, players will be able to take control of several of the iconic characters, each with their own unique set of skills, to fight crime and save the day. The girls of DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power can be seen working hard to keep their civilian identities and superhero personas separate, as well as keeping it all secret from various other NPCs within Metropolis. In addition to keeping the city streets safe, the girls will also be attending Metropolis High School and shopping at the mall during the gameplay. Obviously, selfies and social media are a must, and they will also feature in DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power.
Little else is revealed in the trailer, but it looks set to be a fun and playful romp for any DC fan, be they a teen themselves or not. Along with DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power, Nintendo also announced that Fall Guys will be coming to the Nintendo Switch. This family-friendly title made a name for itself in 2020 as one of the lockdown party must-haves. These two games will add a great splash of color to any Nintendo console in 2021.
DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power will be available for the Nintendo Switch on June 4, 2021.
