Warning: This article contains spoilers for DC League of Super-Pets!

Dwayne Johnson confirms DC League of Super-Pets' big credits cameo while hyping the future of the animated franchise. Johnson voices the lead character of Krypto in the film, the super-powered canine pal of Superman. Krypto must team up with other super-powered pets to help save their heroic owners. Kevin Hart, Diego Luna, Kate McKinnon, Natasha Lyonne, Vanessa Bayer, Thomas Middleditch, and Ben Schwartz round out the animal voice cast in DC League of Super-Pets, while Keanu Reeves voices Batman and John Krasinski plays Superman.

DC League of Super-Pets is technically Johnson's first superhero role, even if not connected to the broader DCEU. However, the actor is set to make his live-action superhero debut in October with the long-awaited Black Adam. Johnson plays the titular character in the forthcoming film, which does take place in the DCEU and is set to introduce a number of new heroes to that universe, including Justice Society of America members Dr. Fate, Atom Smasher, Hawkman, and Cyclone. The actor has constantly talked about his desire to have Black Adam square off against Superman in live action, but it appears that it may happen in animated form instead (if at all).

In a new post from Johnson, the actor confirms the suspected cameo at the end of DC League of Super-Pets, which features a familiar-looking anti-hero clad in a black outfit approaching Superman with his own pet. The pet in question is a large dog sporting a cape and yellow-tinted lightning bolt on its chest (with a Batman toy in its mouth), which means it is, in fact, Black Adam and his dog Anubis. Johnson says in the post, "You guys already know how I feel about SUPERMAN vs BLACK ADAM," continuing with the phrase he has uttered a number of times about the meeting up of the two characters: "The Indestructible Force meets the Immovable Object." He also discusses expanding the DC universe both in live-action and animation, hinting at more Super-Pets films. Check out Johnson's post below:

Johnson recently appeared at San Diego Comic-Con, where he debuted a new trailer for the upcoming Black Adam and answered some questions, including those about Superman and Black Adam. Early reports suggested that Henry Cavill, who plays Superman in the DCEU, would appear at Comic-Con, but it did not come to pass. Fans were upset by this, and when posed with the question of who would win between Black Adam and Superman, Johnson said, "I guess it probably all depends on who's playing Superman. I will just say that." To date, no news about Cavill's return has been confirmed.

It takes many years to make an animated film, and with the length of time that has passed since Cavill donned the red and blue, it may well be a DC League of Super-Pets that beats the live-action crowd to theaters with a Superman/Black Adam meet up. That would depend largely on a DC League of Super-Pets sequel being greenlit, of course, which has yet to happen (and may not with the lackluster box office thus far). While an animated match-up between the two characters (and their pets) may be fun, it's not exactly the team-up that fans are hoping to see. Hopefully, WB Discovery is able to find a way to bring the fans what they want in a Cavill Superman/Johnson Black Adam live-action throwdown, but for now it's anyone's guess as to whether it happens or not.
