Marc Maron returns to the DCEU to voice Lex Luthor in the upcoming movie, DC League of Super-PetsMaron recently appeared in DC's hit Joker film in 2019 as Gene Ufland, the antagonistic producer who ushered Joaquin Phoenix's Arthur Flack onto Live With Murray Franklin. Maron also is revered for the lovable grumpiness he gave to GLOW's Sam Sylvia.

Collider confirms that Maron will play Lex Luthor in the DC League of Super-Pets. Lex Luthor is one of Superman's main villains and will not only go toe-to-toe with Superman but also his dog, Krypto, who is voiced by none other than Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. In addition to Maron and Johnson, the star-studded cast includes Kevin Hart as Ace the Bat-Hound, Keanu Reeves, John Krasinski, Vanessa Bayer, Kate McKinnon, Natasha Lyonne, and Diego Luna.

Other than that, not much is known about the pet-centric DCEU film, even as the release date inches closer and closer. It may seem late in the game for Maron to join the film as it's set to release in theaters on May 20, 2022, but anything is possible in the world of animation. This only adds to the confusion and anticipation that DC has created by remaining tight-lipped about Super-Pets. All that is known about the storyline is that it's a "charming" one. The rest will be revealed in trailers and theaters starting May 20, 2022.

DC League of Super-Pets is based on the DC Comics title Legion of Super-Pets, which originally appeared in Adventure Comics #293 in February 1962. Team members include Beppo, Comet the Super-Horse, Krypto, Proty, and Streaky the Squirrel.
