Before the DCEU is turned on its head by Black Adam and the new movie, fans of The Flash are being reminded that the members of the Justice League had animal companions that had powers just like them.

DC League of Super-Pets revives the long-forgotten comic storylines of the Super-Pets who experienced some popularity with the cartoon television show, Krypto The Super Dog, in 2005. The star-studded cast tells the origin story of how the Super-Pets get their powers and how they plan to save the day beside their hero companions. Many of the cast members have loaned their voices to other cartoon characters outside of the DC Universe and have starred in some of Hollywood's biggest films in the last two decades.

Krypto - Dwayne Johnson

Dwayne Johnson has been in several Disney projects over the years, one of the most notable his role as the demi-god Maui in Moana. Maui captivated audiences with his shape-shifting, as well as his tragic backstory that comes to light as he traverses the ocean with Moana to save her people.

Johnson's voice and attitude perfectly fit the character, but his singing voice surprised fans when he belted out You're Welcome. Now, as Krypto, Superman's faithful companion, Johnson has to lead the other Super-Pets to save the world.

Ace - Kevin Hart

Fans of animated animal movies will recognize Kevin Hart's voice from one of his best moviesThe Secret Life of Pets, where the stand-up comedian turned actor plays the heroic and sometimes uncontrollable Snowball the bunny.

Hart perfectly captured the essence of a big personality being trapped in a small rabbit body and gets himself and his friends into sticky situations but always finds a way home before his owners. This time around, Hart plays Ace, who is paired with The Dark Knight himself, Batman.

Lulu - Kate McKinnon

Even though she is best known for her iconic Saturday Night Live skits, Kate McKinnon has branched out from her career on late-night television in her role as Miss Frizzle on the revival of the children's show, The Magic School Bus, The Magic School Bus Rides Again.

Even though the cartoon is geared toward a much younger age group than McKinnon's standard brand of comedy, she still captivates audiences with her over-the-top personality and ability to shift her comedic timing to suit a younger audience. In DC League Of Super-Pets, McKinnon, who can seemingly master any character, plays Lulu, the guinea pig who has been experimented on one too many times by the evil Lex Luthor.

Superman - John Krasinski

Unless viewers are paying attention to Monster's University, they may miss John Krasinski's appearance in the film. Krasinski only has a few lines but plays a vital role in the overall franchise as he plays scarer Frank McCay, who not only gives a young Mike Wazowski the now iconic MU hat but makes him believe that he too can be a top scarer in the company.

Frank McCay becomes Mike's hero just like Superman is Krypto's hero. DC League of Super-Pets is the first time Krasinski has dawned the cape of Superman, but with a sequel already on the table, it may not be the last.

PB - Vanessa Bayer

Vanessa Bayer's best roles so far have all been live-action, but with her recent foray into voice acting, that list will include a few animated roles in no time. Besides her role as PB, Wonder Woman's swine super fan, Bayer has also worked with Disney on their new children's show, Alice's Wonderland Bakery.

In the show, she plays the bubbly and sometimes confusing Twiddle Do, who appears alongside her brother Twiddle Don't. The new take on the classic Wonderland twins is aimed at preschool children, but Bayer's naturally outgoing and happy personality makes her a natural fit for the character.

Merton - Natasha Lyonne

Natasha Lyonne has one of the most recognizable voices in Hollywood; with her accent and rasp, there is no mistaking her for anyone else. Lyonne hasn't done much voice acting work in the past but is most known for her work on Orange Is The New Black.

In her role on the show as Nicky, Lyonne has a sarcastic personality and is often the loudest person in the room, which is similar to her role as Merton the turtle. Like Nicky, Merton can make friends with anyone but sometimes gets into trouble when her attitude takes control and she can't escape a sticky situation on her own.

Chip - Diego Luna

Chip the squirrel is voiced by Diego Luna, who Star Wars fans will recognize from the upcoming series Andor and cartoon lovers will remember as Manolo from The Book of Life. In the movie, Manolo isn't afraid of anything but is kind and full of heart, which is the exact opposite of Chip, who is terrified of his new electric powers and has to learn to be courageous.

Manolo takes on the struggle of breaking family traditions and becoming an individual but also finding love. While the two roles are different, Luna plays both well and makes audiences feel connected to the characters.

Batman - Keanu Reeves

Keanu Reeves has been in some of the best action movies of all time, as well as comedies, but recently the A-list actor has been voicing characters in children's movies. Besides playing Batman in the League of Super-Pets, Reeves voices the outlandish Canadian daredevil, Duke Caboom, in Toy Story 4.

Reeves used his expert acting skills to make Caboom seem more human than toy with his emotional delivery of Duke's backstory, leading him to feel insecure. Even though the character seemed like an odd choice for Reeves, upon further inspection, Caboom is similar to Reeve's previous characters who overcome failure and disappointment to become heroes again.

Wonder Woman - Jameela Jamil

Split Image Wonder Woman DC Superpets and Gandra Dee DuckTales

Jameela Jamil has voiced strong characters in the past, but now she voices the most vital member of the Justice League, Wonder Woman. Before this role, Jamil played Gandra Dee in the revival of the Disney series DuckTales. Like Wonder Woman, people underestimate Gandra because she is a girl, but she breaks expectations and becomes an important ally.

Jamil's passion for playing strong characters comes from her passion for activism and empowering women worldwide to see their value and push their limits.

Lois Lane - Olivia Wilde

Split Image Superman, Krypto, Lois Lane Super-pets and Bojack and Charlotte Moore

Just like in the comic, Lois Lane is the girlfriend of Clark Kent/Superman in the League of Super-Pets. This time, the infamous reporter is voiced by Olivia Wilde, who played Charlotte Carson in the smash hit adult animated series, BoJack Horseman. Charlotte is the sweet and free spirit love that BoJack never got to fully experience due to his fame.

Wilde received much praise for the role and became a popular facet of the show. Now, as Lois Lane, Wilde's character has to win over Krypto if she wants to be a part of Clark's life
