Warner Bros. made the decision to delay half of DC FanDome's panels until September after listening to its fans. The first half of DC FanDome took place this past Saturday, where virtual panelists spoke about DC's latest and upcoming movies, shows, and videos games. In addition, multiple trailers premiered for highly anticipated DC projects as well, including trailers for Wonder Woman 1984, The Batman, and Zack Snyder's cut of Justice League.

DC FanDome was an entirely virtual, free experience for fans consisting of both live panels and encore screenings in case viewers were unable to make a certain discussion. It was also broadcasted in nine languages, such as English, French, Chinese, and Japanese. However, the August 22 event is only the beginning, as DC announced prior to the Hall of Heroes event FanDome would be split into two days, with DC FanDome: Explore the Multiverse scheduled for September 12.

Variety reports that this decision to bisect DC FanDome was largely based on fan feedback. More specifically, when the lineup for DC FanDome was first announced in mid-August, Warner Bros. executives received an outpouring of responses from fans. Although most fans were enthusiastic about the diversity of the showcases and events, many were concerned about the sheer number of panels intended for one day. As a result, Warner Bros. felt holding DC FanDome over two days would be the best course of option for fans to fully enjoy every aspect of the experience.

On September 12, fans should expect to see panels from WatchVerse, YouVerse, InsiderVerse, FunVerse, and DC Kids FanDome categories. All programming for "Explore the Multiverse" will also go live simultaneously, which allows fans to personalize their viewing experience. However, programming will only be live for 24-hours, meaning viewers will be unable to access "Explore the Multiverse" again once time has elapsed. While this time cap may be disappointing news to some, Warner Bros.' decision to make DC FanDome a two-day event now allows viewers much more flexibility. As such, it's clear this is a studio that prioritizes fan feedback and considers it an important decision-making factor.

With so much uncertainty surrounding the film industry during the age of COVID-19, Warner Bros. pulled off an event on August 22 that was truly unlike any other. From building hype through providing character first looks to answering the most pressing questions of DC fans, the first part of DC FanDome was undoubtedly a success. That being said, the pressure is on for September 12, as all eyes will be on "Explore the Multiverse" to see if the success of "Hall of Heroes" can be replicated.
