It looks like DC may have already subtly suggested which hero will be the newest member of the Doom Patrol. The recent news regarding the Dawn of DC initiative contains a possible hint that an iconic hero joining the World's Strangest Heroes.

The DC Universe is filled with a number of teams dedicated to keeping the world safe from it's many threats. But the strangest of the bunch is without a doubt the menagerie of oddities assembled by Niles Caulder. The Doom Patrol is made up of bizarre heroes such as Robotman or Elasti-Woman, and they routinely fight villains such as Mr. Nobody and his counterculture crew, the Brotherhood of Dada. After a brief absence from the DCU, the team is once again joining the fray with a new series. Not only that but several new members of the team such as Degenerate and Beast Girl will be along for the ride.

But could DC already be planting the seeds for a new member to join the oddball crew? If a new DC cover is any indication, then the answer may just be ‘yes’. DC has recently revealed a new crop of titles coming out as part of its Dawn of DC initiative. A new Titans series, as well as a new Green Lantern title were part of the latest batch of releases. But one of the most interesting parts of the announcement is the reveal of a new Cyborg title by Morgan Hampton and Tom Raney. The news of Vic Stone's new series comes with a cover by Edwin Galmon, which shows Cyborg's new look. Not only does Cyborg have a new costume, but it matches with the Doom Patrol's new uniform look.

Though they haven’t made their reappearance just yet, DC has already revealed that the Doom Patrol will be getting new costumes with an orange and white color scheme. By the looks of things, Vic is wearing a largely white outfit with notable orange accents. It should also be noted that Cyborg’s new outfit seems to be inspired by Joivan Wade's portrayal in the Doom Patrol television series, which often features Vic wearing a tracksuit. It’s possible that Cyborg’s new color scheme may be hinting at a connection between Vic and the Doom Patrol.

The only hitch in this theory is that Cyborg is also going to be a part of the newly announced Titans book. However, heroes serving on multiple superhero teams at the same time isn’t exactly unheard of. While Cyborg has been a canonical member of the Justice League and the Titans, he’s never officially been a member of the Doom Patrol. However, the hero has been a fan-favorite of the Doom Patrol show. With this being the first time the Doom Patrol and Cyborg have been at the forefront of the DCU in years, some fans may be hoping to see some interaction between the two. It’s likely that Vic’s new outfit is just a subtle nod to his other team, but it’s possible that readers may actually see Cyborg become a full-fledged member of the Doom Patrol.
