Warning! Spoilers for Task Force Z #2 by DC Comics

The Red Hood's undead team of supervillains just recruited a surprising new member, as Deadshot has been resurrected into a terrifying new form. In Task Force Z #2, Jason Todd's team is told they're getting a new member, but after discovering it's the recently killed Deadshot, the revived villain shoots the antihero, leaving the squad in a state of disarray.

In one of the more shocking deaths in recent DC Comics history, Black Mask murdered Deadshot by shooting him in the chest and kicking him off a skyscraper during Tom Taylor, Bruno Redondo, and Adriano Lucas' Suicide Squad run. Deadshot's demise surprised readers, as he became a key leader in the series who was trying to clear his name and leave the Suicide Squad for good. However, like almost every comic book character not named Uncle Ben, Deadshot's death wasn't permanent. However, instead of coming back as his usual self, the sharpshooter was brought back as an undead monster.

In Task Force Z #2 by Matthew Rosenberg, Eddy Barrows, Eber Ferreira, and Adriano Lucas, Jason Todd completes his latest mission and is informed his undead team featuring Bane, Man-Bat, Arkham Knight, and Mr. Bloom is adding a new member. On a mission with Dr. Shelley, Task Force Z battles with the Kobra Cult, leading them to the coffin of their latest recruit - a very dead, Deadshot. Frustrated with the rescue mission, Jason tells his Task Force Z superior he's coming for them and they're "going to have a little talk." However, before he can finish the conversation, a loud bang goes off. Jason falls to his knees as he looks down at a gunshot wound in his chest. Meanwhile, an undead Deadshot with smoke coming from his hand's weapon emerges from the coffin behind him.

Numerous targeting lasers spot Deadshot in DC Comics.

Seeing Deadshot return is a nice follow-up to his death in Suicide Squad. But, this isn't the same Deadshot readers last saw, as he's become an undead villain brought back to life by the unpredictable Lazarus resin. Floyd Lawton's gross, partial skull is visible, and his undead features make him look more like Frankenstein than a human. There's no telling how else the resin affected Deadshot.

Adding a member of Deadshot's skill to Task Force Z should help Jason Todd in the long run, but in the short term, he just took a potentially lethal bullet from his newest team member. So, it's not the best start for the two character's new twisted relationship. Readers can see the new Deadshot back in action as Task Force Z #2 by DC Comics is in comic book stores now.
