Exclusive Preview for DC's Young Animal: Cave Carson Has An Interstellar Eye #1

Cave Carson has an Interstellar Eye cover

DC's crossover event with Young Animal came to a close three weeks ago in Doom Patrol/JLA Special #1, as the battle with RetCon was finally won. This event brought together the heroes of the Justice League and Doom Patrol, as the evil RetCon tried to sell Earth Prime by sanitizing it, re-writing our favorite heroes in order to turn them into the cleanest, safest, dullest versions of themselves... suitable for all audiences! We saw Wonder Woman turned into Wonder Wife (Shade The Changing Girl/Wonder Woman Special #1), Batman turned into a Priest (Mother Panic/Batman Special #1), and Superman becoming Milkman Man (JLA/Doom Patrol Special #1), the protector of RetCon's new reality.

Thankfully, Cave Carson was able to step in and save the day before Earth Prime was sold to the highest bidder. Using his cybernetic eye, the Young Animal hero was able to break through the re-writes and gather together the Justice League and Doom Patrol to fight back in the Milk Wars. Over a series of crossover comics, the team got together, until the final issue (Doom Patrol/JLA Special #1) saw them having to find a way to reboot the universe after Retcon decided to wipe it out entirely because they couldn't sell it! Now, a new Young Animal/DC universe is here, and Cave Carson is leaving his usual underground explorations to turn his attention to the stars...

Cave Carson's new title, launching tomorrow, becomes Cave Carson Has An Interstellar Eye. This new series launches with Carson and his family (and of course, that cybernetic eye), being sucked into a black hole and dumped out in another part of the galaxy, where they meet up with intergalactic music sensation Star Adam. ScreenRant has an exclusive preview of some of the pages of the first issue, and it looks like Carson's newest adventure is going to be amazing...

This shift into space was hinted at in the final issue of the Milk Wars event (Doom Patrol/JLA Special), as all the heroes found themselves settling in to the new, rebooted reality. Cave Carson was seen with his daughter, on the surface of what looks like an asteroid, as he narrates "Things have changed. I've spent most of my life underground... but the reaches of space call my name, the name of my daughter, my friend, and of the cybernetic eye that held so much mystery for so much time. We're ready". It's no big surprise, then, that Cave Carson is headed into space in his new series.

Star Adam is bound to be an interesting addition to the Young Animal canon, especially from this first appearance as a giant, glowing, being who doesn't need to eat... and yet who is somehow friends with Cave Carson. It looks like Cave Carson Has An Interstellar Eye is going to start delving into Carson's past - and potentially giving us some new insight into both the explorer and his mysterious eye. In addition, we can't wait to see more of Chloe Carson, and how she copes with her new adventures with her father in space.
