Warning! Spoilers for 'Tis The Season To Be Freezin' by DC Comics
This week, DC Comics' new winter anthology 'Tis The Season To Be Freezin' is coming to comic book stores and we've got an exclusive preview of the 80-page collection of stories. In 'Vixen and the Super-Pets in 'The Syphoning'' the DC heroine teams up with the most heroic animals the DC Universe has to offer to stop the Penguin from stealing their powers during the Winter Solstice.
DC Comics' newest anthology brings the winter spirit with a host of heroes and villains joining in on the festivities in ten different tales. 'Tis The Season To Be Freezin' brings together a talented group of creators, including Tee Franklin, Paul Dini, and Bobby Moynihan. The book will feature stories including Harley Quinn taking on Hawkman, Robin battling Mr. Freeze, and The Flash and Superman teaming up to deal with Captain Cold. The anthology also showcases the return of Justice League Queer and brings the popular couple Firestorm and Killer Frost back together.
In our exclusive preview of 'Tis The Season To Be Freezin', Vixen stars in a fun story by Tee Franklin, Yancey Labat, Tony Avino, and Taylor Esposito, alongside Ace the Bat-Hound and the Super-Pets. In the preview pages, the animal-powered hero tries to stop Waddles the Penguin from following through on the Penguin's plan to steal the Super-Pets powers during the Winter Solstice. Waddles is mind-controlled by the Penguin and uses projections to terrorize the city. Vixen desperately tries to convince the scared animal that he can fight back against the Penguin's control.
Thankfully, Vixen manages to use Ace the Bat-Hound and her own powers to get through to Waddles. She convinces Waddles he's safe and back in control of his body. However, to stop the Penguin from stealing the Super-Pets powers, she convinces him to keep pretending like he's being controlled so he can be a hero in his own right and help save the day.
The Vixen-starring story looks like it's going to be both action-packed and an emotional affair, as the hero will guide the Super-Pets in taking down the Penguin.
For those looking to get into the winter spirit and see DC heroes and villains battle it out in the cold and snow, 'Tis the Season to be Freezin' looks like it's going to be a fun anthology with plenty of heart, action, and of course, chills.
