The DC Universe is filled with incredibly strong rulers, from Aquaman, king of Atlantis, to the recent cinematic debut of Khandaq's ruler, Black Adam. But kings aren't the only powerhouse of rulers in the galaxy.

All over the DC Universe, from Earth to the other side of the galaxy, there are a number of queens who have an immense amount of power to them. For them, their rule is backed up by the power they hold. Here are 10 of the most powerful queens in the DC Universe.

Queen Bee

Queen Bee Young Justice

Queen Bee was the ruler of the country of Bialya as well as a scheming villain with plans of her own. However, her power levels are on the weaker side. She does not appear to have any superhuman powers or abilities.

Much of Queen Bee's power comes from her brainwashing techniques and leadership skills. Despite being a villain, Queen Bee actually does care for her people, trying to turn the country into a paradise. However, her methods of doing so, involving some forms of brainwashing, are still morally wrong.

Atomia

Atomia

Atomia hails from Dimension Chi, a dark dimension created by Amazon Queen Hippolyta as a means of self-knowledge. But her size changing powers make her a dangerous threat.

As the queen of Atom World, Atomia has size altering powers that work along the same lines as any other hero or villain with the same ability, able to shrink and grow at will. However, this is pretty much the limit to her abilities. While she is a decent fighter and leader, her lack of full-blown power levels like Hippolyta herself make her a severely lacking queen.

Mary, Queen Of Blood

Mary, Queen of Blood

DC recently brought back Mary, Queen of Blood, whose death in DC vs Vampires was the catalyst for many powerful characters transforming into vampires. And while she's not a queen in the traditional sense, she is still considered to be the queen of the vampires.

When it comes to power levels, Mary is no slouch. As a vampire, she possesses all the strengths of a vampire, such as super strength, flight, and immortality, so long as she consumes blood. She also possesses enhanced psychokinesis abilities such as hypnosis. Combine that with her transformation powers, and this is a vampire that can be extremely dangerous.

Maxima

Maxima flying in the DC Comics

Far from being an underrated Superman villain, Maxima was the Queen of Almerac, who sought to make Superman her husband.

In her original appearances, Maxima had enhanced strength, speed, and endurance, as well as teleportation and mind control abilities. She was also a master at hand-to-hand combat, being able to match combat skills against Superman himself.

However, much of Maxima's powers were altered in the post-Flashpoint DC continuity, making the character's new iteration much weaker in comparison to what she was before Flashpoint.

H.I.V.E. Queen

Queen Bee holds Superman.

Though not the queen of any one nation or planet, H.I.V.E. Queen led the villainous organization H.I.V.E. for a time while also serving as an agent for Braniac.

Thanks to Braniac, the H.I.V.E. Queen received a 12th-level intellect, making her one of the smartest beings out there. She also has the standard super strength, speed, and durability that most super humans have, plus telekinetic powers such as telepathy and mind control. Beyond this, however, she has little else to call upon when fighting heroes like Superman.

Queen Of Fables

Queen of Fables

Long ago, the being known as Tsaritsa, now known as the Queen of Fables, ruled the world before humanity rose up and banished her. Despite this, she remains immensely powerful.

The Queen of Fables has immense magical abilities, able to warp reality and cast spells on her enemies. She also possesses energy constructs, which were powerful enough to kill Doctor Chaos, whose Helm of Chaos is, in many ways, similar to Doctor Fate, one of the most powerful magical beings in DC Comics, potentially even putting the Queen of Fables on his level.

Hippolyta

Hippolyta is the queen of the Amazons and mother to Wonder Woman, who has many impressive multiverse versions of her. And, as the queen, she has plenty of power behind her.

Hippolyta has all the basic superhuman abilities, like enhanced strength, speed, and durability. As an Amazon, she also has spent centuries mastering multiple forms of combat, able to do so due to her immortality. Not only that, but she also is a master tactician and highly intelligent, making her and her army of Amazons nearly impossible to beat in any circumstance.

Mera

DC's Mera Fighting Orm In Mera Queen Of Atlantis

Mera is the queen of Atlantis and husband to Aquaman, and her powers make her a force to be reckoned with. Mera has access to a multitude of water based powers, including hydrokinetic abilities, which allow her to create water constructs and drain the fluids out of people.

Due to being an Atlantean, Mera has also displayed a number of impressive superhuman feats, such as being able to dodge a bolt of lightning at point-blank range and easily carrying weights up to over 70 tons.

Aga'po

Queen Aga'po

Aga'po was the leader of the Star Sapphires, one of the many Green Lantern Corp-like organizations in the galaxy, as well as the queen of Zamaron. Being imbued with the power of the Star Sapphire, Aga'po could use the Star Sapphire rings and manipulate the violet light of love of the Emotional Electromagnetic Spectrum.

Given that she's the leader of the Star Sapphires and that Star Sapphires can fight on par with Green Lanterns, Aga'po is an impressively powerful warrior and a potential threat to the galaxy should she revert to her former ways of spreading love at all costs.

Blackfire

Blackfire with glowing hand in Teen Titans

Blackfire is the sister of Starfire and the queen of her homeworld, Tamaran. And her power levels are almost off the charts.

Due to her Tamaranian physiology, Blackfire can absorb solar radiation, travel at light speed to move around the galaxy, and shoot black energy bolts from her body.

Even wilder is Blackfire's ability to survive the surface heat of stars and being able to fly to the even horizon of a Black Hole. Truly, Blackfire is an incredibly powerful warrior and queen, with her power levels only getting stronger the more solar radiation she absorbs.
