After Stewart absorbed the power of the Godstorm, he became the legendary "Emerald Knight", DC's new protector of the Dark Sectors—at least until the New God Esak is defeated and the missing Lantern Corps can return home. This series will likely fill in some of the gaps pertaining to the Green Lanterns during Dark Crisis. In the preview pages for John Stewart: The Emerald Knight #1, the Green Lantern Corps does something new to honor Hal Jordan, arguably the most legendary of them all.

Hal Jordan's One of the Lantern Corps' Greatest Military Leaders.

John Stewart: The Emerald Knight #1, by Geoffrey Thorne, Marco Santucci and Michael Atiyeh, begins in Dark Sector 4, where the followers of Esak invade the planet Ektos to summon the Emerald Knight. Leading the Green Lantern Corps group known as the Emerald Guard, John Stewart orders them to execute the "Jordan Attack". From what these pages show, the Jordan Attack appears to be one that involves a full-frontal assault, pushing back the enemy through sheer willpower. While Platoon 1, led by Kilowog charges Esak's army, Platoons 2 and 3 work to protect the planet's people and close of the portal to prevent escape.

The Jordan Attack is one that fits Hal Jordan to a T—a show of force that matches the mightiest will in the galaxy. Jordan's proved continuously the strength of his willpower, even without his Green power ring, is practically unmatched. Jordan has had the most development of any of the Lanterns. He's worn every ring of the emotional spectrum. He's succumbed to darkness, which led to the destruction of the Green Lantern Corps and almost the entire universe. Yet despite all this, he has also experienced one of the greatest redemption arcs in comic book history. Very few heroes who fall from grace manage to earn back the amount of respect Jordan has. To have an attack formation named after him once again proves Hal Jordan's legendary status as a Green Lantern.

Once again, DC's most legendary Green Lantern continues to shine in brightest day and blackest night, even without appearing on-panel. Hal Jordan is truly one-of-a-kind.
