There is a supposed sequel to George Romero's Day of the Dead in production. There have already been remakes (not sequels) of Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead. While those were an attempt at re-creating classic horror movies with a contemporary spin, the story here is a bit different.
Screenwriter Jeffrey Reddick stated that it would be scarier than the original (which won't be difficult, the original was certainly gory but not all that scary), but then he added an interesting comment:
"But the women are beautiful, so many of our zombies will be much more sexy than we may be used to seeing."
That begs the question: How exactly are male members of the audience supposed to react to a "sexy zombie"...?
"Woah dude, she's hot, except for her lower jaw missing from her face."
Wierd comment however you spin it.
Of course there is some very bad news associated with this: James Glenn Dudelson and Ana Clavell who are producing the film have just been utterly skewered by an author over at Cinematical in regards to their straight to DVD release Creepshow III.
So, don't expect much from this despite a recognizable title.
