The executive producer of Netflix’s Extraction, David Guillod, faces numerous felony charges, including rape and kidnapping. Starring Chris Hemsworth, action-thriller Extraction is Guillod’s most recent work, following the producer’s line of success with The Intruder and Atomic Blonde.

Guillod began his career in Hollywood as a talent manager, claiming credit for contributing to the careers of Jennifer Lopez, Don Cheadle, Rachel McAdams, Katie Holmes, and more.

Recently, numerous allegations of sexual assault have made headlines. These include Danny Masterson (That 70's Show) charged with rape, Ansel Elgort (The Fault in Our Stars) accused of assaulting an underage girl, and Justin Beiber allegedly being involved in sexual abuse. In 2017, allegations of sexual assault against Guillod came to light after Jessica Barth (Ted) accused Guillod of drugging and assaulting her in 2012. At the time, Guillod was Barth's manager. Since then, the charges against Guillod were dropped by the Los Angeles Police Department. Now, three additional women have come forward to accuse Guillod of sexual assault from separate incidents.

Per Variety, Guillod was arrested on Monday in Santa Barbara on 11 felony charges, including rape, kidnapping to commit rape, and rape of a drugged victim. Flanked by attorney Philip Cohen, Guillod surrendered to local authorities in Santa Barbara after a $1 million warrant was issued for Guillod’s arrest. The charges allege that Guillod sexually assaulted three incapacitated women in May 2012, December 2014, and 2015. If convicted, Guillod could serve 21 years to life behind bars. At this time, the women who have filed claims against Guillod remain anonymous. Guillod’s lawyer issued this statement in regards to the allegations:

"Mr. Guillod has been vilified for eight years without being afforded the opportunity to examine under oath his accusers. Justice is rarely swift and does not come easy, but Mr. Guillod very much looks forward to clearing his name in the appropriate forum."

As it stands, Guillod was granted bail at $3 million and remains at the Santa Barbara County jail. Reportedly, Guillod continues to maintain his innocence. With the allegations involving kidnapping to commit robbery, or rape, rape by fraud, and assault of a drugged victim, Guillod would be ineligible to serve a prison sentence in county jail. At this time, District Attorney Joyce Dudley is encouraging additional victims, or individuals with additional information, to come forward.

Since the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements, many allegations have come to light regarding various instances of sexual harassment and racial discrimination, as well as physical and emotional abuse. It’s allowed victims the opportunity to share their stories and seek justice, but the problem has hardly been fixed since situations like this case against Guillod continue to make headlines. The investigation of the claims against Extraction’s producer, Guillod, remains ongoing.
