Veteran WWE competitor-turned-Hollywood star Dave Bautista thinks Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson would be a better president than Donald Trump. Bautista, who recently retired from in-ring competition, has never been one to shy away from speaking what's on his mind. The Guardians of the Galaxy star has been against Trump for a while and refuses to endorse his position as president.

Talks of Johnson running for president began back in 2017 after he revealed that the idea was being considered. However, he has since made it known that he would not be running in 2020, citing his respect for the position as the main reason. While Johnson may not be ready to tackle the presidency, Bautista feels he is more than qualified to replace Trump. Bautista has spoken about Johnson being an alternative in the past, but now he has clarified what he meant.

According to Washington ExaminerBautista thinks Johnson would be a better president than Trump. He mentioned how his past comments weren't his way of saying Johnson would be a great president, but that he would simply be better than the current one in the office. Bautista even joked that Kumail Nanjiani, his Stuber co-star, as well as himself,  are more qualified than Trump. When asked if he thought Johnson would run for president, Bautista answered:

"I didn’t just come out and say, ‘Hey, guys, I think The Rock could make a great president.' I think I was asked what I thought, and I think I think I said that I just- I think he’d be a better president than our current president. I think he was- I think I said he was much more qualified and I believe he is."

While Johnson may not have the political experience, he does possess a strong ability to make others follow him. As an in-ring competitor, Johnson was called "The People's Champion" and was loved by millions of fans. Since his arrival in Hollywood, he has only grown in popularity, so if he decides to run for president in the future, having a strong fan base can't hurt.

Interestingly enough, even though Bautista is an entertainer and not a politician, Trump does have strong WWE ties (he's the only US president to also be inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame). So, with that being the case, Bautista can certainly make judgment calls on the president that aren't entirely based in politics. That said, WWE fans and political enthusiasts alike shouldn't expect a Rock vs. Trump showdown in the ring any time soon.
