Warning! This post contains a PREVIEW for Darth Vader #29

While the Queen's Shadow Sabé has been trying to redeem Darth Vader, the Dark Lord of the Sith is becoming even darker during the original Star Wars trilogy. Taking place before the events of Return of the Jedi, a new preview for Darth Vader sees the Dark Lord officially rejecting Sabé's attempts to bring him back to the light. However, it gets even worse considering what he's currently doing to his late wife's most trusted handmaid.

Previously in Darth Vader, Sabé learned the truth that Vader was once Anakin Skywalker. Having viewed a recording of Padmé's dying belief that there was still good in him, Sabé tried to redeem the Sith Lord and has even called upon the memories of Anakin's wife and mother as means to motivate change. However, her hopes have massively backfired, leaving her to play a very dangerous game.

Receiving Emperor Palpatine's blessing to forge Sabé into his dark agent, Vader has begun the work of corrupting Sabé into his own Shadow. Now, the new preview for Darth Vader #29 from Greg Pak and Luke Ross confirms that Vader has no interest in being anything other than a Sith Lord. At the same time, it's being teased that Sabé is going to have to decide if she should genuinely help Vader bring order to the galaxy. However, she'll have to decide soon seeing as how Padmé's other handmaids are coming to restore Amidala's legacy (no matter the cost). Here are the preview pages and synopsis for the upcoming issue:

Darth Vader's Darkness Is At An All-Time High (Before Return Of The Jedi)

  • DARTH VADER #29
  • TECHNO (RE)UNION
  • Three decades ago, Anakin Skywalker slaughtered Wat Tambor, leader of the Techno Union, along with the rest of the Separatist leaders by the command of the Emperor. So who is the pirate JUL TAMBOR, what is he planning on Skako Minor, and what will the Handmaiden, who now stands at Vader’s side, do when it’s her job to choose if Jul lives or dies? Also, which Handmaiden is this? And will this new adventure fulfill Sabé’s dream of derailing Vader’s journey to the dark side—or simply complete it?

While the synopsis confirms the return of the Techno Union and the legacy of Wat Tambor, it looks as though Sabé will be forced by Vader to choose how they respond in the name of "order". However, Padmé's handmaidens infiltrating Vader's flagship is very significant, an intrusion the Dark Lord likely won't take lightly. However, one has to wonder how Sabé will react when and if she faces her sisters.

Darth Vader making himself irredeemable by Sabé darkly makes sense seeing as how Luke is the one who ends up bringing him to the light. However, flipping the script and attempting to corrupt her instead makes his darkness even worse during this era of the Star Wars galaxy. The full Darth Vader #29 releases on November 30th.
