Although Fury in Darksiders 3 was meant to defeat the Seven Deadly Sins, the final boss takes something of a sudden and dramatic turn. This final fight can be an extremely difficult one, with it taking every inch of Fury's skill to reach the end of Darksiders 3.
Throughout the game, the Horseman of the Apocalypse was tasked with finding and defeating the Seven Deadly Sins. Some of these, such as Avarice, didn't put up much of a fight, while the likes of Gluttony and the second battle against Wrath proved much more difficult for Fury. The end result saw Fury face off against Pride in what should have been the final part of her mission.
From then, however, things take a turn for the worse. Pride attempts to reveal some shocking truths to Fury, but is silenced by one close to her. This then turns into a larger betrayal that leads to the final fight of the game. Spoilers to the finale of Darksiders 3 lie ahead, so be warned those who wish to find out the plot of the game on their own.
It turns out that the Watcher companion who Fury has had throughout her quest was Envy all along, and that the creature that Fury believed she had defeated at the beginning of the game was an impostor. Revealing herself just after the boss fight with Pride, Envy reclaims the power of her fellow Sin, before revealing to Fury that the Charred Council is not to be trusted, and that they want both the Seven Deadly Sins and the Four Horsemen taken care of.
Defeated by Envy and knocked from Aires, Fury eventually catches up with the last of the Sins as she tries to destroy the Charred Council. Here, the fight begins, with Fury taking on the Sin to stop her claim to power, rather than protect her former masters, but Envy's attacks are certainly pause for thought. With a variety of different attacks, including powerful sword hits and ranged gunshots through to a spike-laden area of effect skill, it's not a fight to be trifled with.
Meanwhile, Envy can also call upon the skills of the other Sins, summoning the spirits of the others to come and attack Fury. Wrath is the most annoying of the bunch, with some major wave hits that span the majority of the arena. Because of this, players should definitely keep an eye on their health, and be sure to heal up whenever required, as bad luck with a couple of hits could end the battle prematurely.
Play safe, go on the offensive where possible, and watch out for the manifestations of the other Sins, and before too long Envy will have been defeated. Fury, then betrayed by the Charred Council despite saving them, escapes back to Earth - and is met by a hint towards where Darksiders 4 could go should a sequel be made. Whatever happens next, there's at least one more extremely angry Horseman who has justice in mind.
